Tailor Mimics are a rare, unique, and highly specialized form of Mimic, noteworthy for its complex symbiotic life and reproductive cycle. Rather than simply attacking, killing, and eating its prey as mimics normally do, once a Tailor Mimic has lured a female humanoid creature close enough, it suddenly envelops the unsuspecting victim in an inescapable yet mobile "suit", hence its name. The Tailor Mimic then stimulates the release of various nutritious bodily fluids, such as breastmilk and arousal, from the humanoid for it to feed upon.

Rather than simply releasing its victim after the initial feeding, however, the Tailor Mimic will then proceed to keep its host well-nourished so that it can continue to feed upon her. One oft-favored means of doing so is to use its acute sense of smell to seek out the nearest source of concentrated male pheromones, forcefully transport its victim in its direction, and sexually entice the inhabitants therein to "feed" and protect its host as it continues to exploit her for sustenance.

Much like the ordinary mimics from which it is derived, the Tailor Mimic is generally agreed to be of a very recent and unnatural origin. Who would be so inclined to artifice such a creature, however, remains only a matter of speculation.
