Lamia V Lamia is looking pretty good, but it's gonna be TIGHT (Patreon)

I'm happy to say that progress on Lamia V Lamia is going well. Though the schedule is going to be very tight.
Due to render times, yet again, I'm cutting it close to the release date of the 5th.

It takes 45 seconds to render each frame. Given that each animation is around 4 minutes, at 60fps... That's about 14,000 frames... Placing the time it takes to render each video at around 7.5 days non-stop. And that's without rendering the final edit, and any possible re-renders if something goes wrong.
It'll still make the 5th, but it's damn close.

I've finished animating the public section of the video yesterday, and now I have about a week to animate the supporter exclusive segment.
So far, the video is 2 minutes and 30 seconds long. 30 seconds for the "intro", and 2 minutes of public content. I'm aiming for the supporter exclusive segment to also be around 2 minutes as well. Leaving the final video length at 4:30.

I'm also going to vent about how bad the performance of Blender is. My patience is wearing thin with it. 😑
Despite running a 5950X and 3080ti with 32GB of RAM, Blender's performance when animating a Bezier curve is abysmal. No matter how dense the scene, as soon as I keyframe a tail, the preview FPS peaks no more than 26 frames. Making it tedious to animate... and unfortunately I don't think this is anything that can be fixed. I just have to deal with it.
This scene in particular has two lamias intertwining, each using a curve, with the addition of yet another curve for the intertwine. So I've got curve modifiers on curve modifiers, and Blender HATES it.
Leaving me to animate my work at, no joke, 6-10fps. Frequently restarting Blender helps, but not much. And I really hope I can find optimisations, otherwise projects ideas with multiple lamias may not be possible with how purely torturous this software is. 😡

Regardless, I think this animation is a banger. A great service to lamia lovers everywhere 😊
Around the 3rd of March the animation should be finished, and I will post an update before finishing the render, doing the audio, and exporting the final cut for the 5th 👍
