As farmers we use a lot more fuel than most so Wayne always keeps a good supply..but when we see prices rising or have a shortage we do not use that reserve ..we go buy more to keep that in reserve and rotate as none of us are told when that shortage will end..We are kept in the dark as to how long a shortage will last ..Tractors mowers whipper snippers chainsaws four wheelers 4x4 vehicles and generators are all things agricultural workers use on a weekly basis .Thank you Rudy for the update .Australia only has a 52 day reserve on fuel and only two refineries compared to 8 5 years ago.We rely on imported fuel so any possibility of war or broken trade agreements threaten our fuel supply .

David and Homestead, I fully agree. I get so sick and tired of hearing about "hoarding" as the root of all evil. I too am at ground zero so to speak. I am in rural NC and one of the key agricultural centers for the state. First, rural dwellers, and especially farmers tend to be more prepared than most. Secondly, I believe this "hack" job is a planned event by The Club that none of us are in. For those of us in affected states, we know how fast grass can grow. Mowing is not just about aesthetics but a necessity. Let your grass get out of control and in 3 weeks you have snakes, mice, rats, etc. invading what used to be your front lawn. Most lawn service guys fill up at the gas stations on a regular basis so it is nothing to see a big truck with a trailer hitched to it loaded with at least 2 mowers, other cutting equipment and gasoline cans. Much of the mowing equipment today requires "non ethanol" gasoline. Do you know how hard that is to find? In this area only one gas station chain carries it. We do not have the luxury of catching the metro, a subway, taxi or bus to get to work, school, grocery store, doctor, etc. We the people are our own public transportation. Today in China Mart I walked up to an employee who was stocking shelves and thanked her for the sacrifice, given the gas shortage. She began to cry and said that she was afraid she would loose her job as she did not have enough gas to get back and forth to work. Was she a poor planner? NO, you can't buy from the pump what ain't there. I spoke with several of the employees who told me similar stories about how China Mart is very quick to give demerits and they were told they have to be at work during this plandemic. Well, if you only have one car that holds 14 gallons and you got a tank full and 14 gallons stashed at home but you drive 60 miles a day just to get back and forth to work, not to mention picking up the kids, and other necessary things, how long does anyone think that is going to last? So in other words, these employees no matter how well they prepared may loose their jobs simply because they can't buy non existent gas to get to work. One lady who owns a mowing company with her husband has had to make the decision to drive the distance to care for their elderly parents rather than to try to make the business work because they don't have gas once the tank and reserves run dry. Those who do have someone to cut grass are now forced to buy extra just to run their own lawn mowers to keep the growth under control and reduce the area cut to preserve gas and prevent habitability issues. I don't apologize for the rant because people who jump to erroneous conclusions based on one photo without understanding the story behind the photo and are not living the pain need to keep their mouths shut until they engage their brains.
