AP, thank you once again for keeping us informed. Question - in terms of those of us who are rural and on well water, how would the hook up work for the 2500 gallon tank and are there some other things to consider when on well water? Since well water is on the grid, (and we do have a generator) we have had a 2nd well drilled and waiting for the parts so that we can manually pump from the ground if necessary. I do understand wells can run dry so even our back up to the back up to the back up is limited but when we have done all we can do, then we must trust the Lord to do the rest. One of the areas we waste water in our home is waiting for cold water to turn tepid, warm, or hot. I first saw the tankless water heater when stationed in Europe and fell in love with it. At this point I believe it is out of our budget but would save so much water.

Our last drought brought a lot of restrictions to our area and many other cities. We could not water our lawns, wash our cars nor wash our driveway and sidewalk without getting some BIG fine. Of course as always they hit us in the pocket book..... we all got put in a Tier system. The more water we consume the more we paid out and they added more fees to the bill. I don't pay for sewer because my home is on a septic tank. If I did have sewer system it would be approx. $60.00 more a month on top of the bill I'm paying now. This is a break down of my monthly water bill. My last bill was $32.25 (average a month, sometimes a little more, never less) $16.03 (was my water consumption, what I used for the month) $13.63 (water meter service charge) (they don't come to your house they read it from their office) (This is a new fee added over the years) $2.65 (water agency fee) (new fee added a few years ago) Now with this drought coming I expect to see higher rates and more fees attach. I do not have a green lawn, just dirt. I do not have any trees. My neighbor next door average $180.00 a month, he has a green beautiful lawn in front yard, one side of his house and all of the back yard, three trees in front, four threes in the back. I guess he can afford it I can't. My plans for this summer is to buy a above ground swimming pool, I wasn't able to find one last year because you couldn't find one but decided I would get one this year..... now with this drought coming it will probably be banned.
