1/2 of the so called "check" is going to a shop up, the rest is going into silver. Glad you are taking care of us AP, and you are right! I also have last years and this years Costco checks.......I am going to use them as part of this last round of preps. I am in pretty good shape here.

AP thanks! I use my Navy Federal Visa for EVERYTHING as well and pay at end of the month (must be a military thing). One reason is for the rebates and second and third, if there is every a dispute regarding a purchase I can file a complaint with the credit card company for resolution and finally, if I want to return something and don't have the receipt, most stores can just pull up the purchase from my card number. The only time I don't use it is when I am dealing with certain Mom and Pop type service businesses (HVAC, Well Drilling, etc). While they accept credit cards, many will add the card usage fee to the final cost which is always more than what I would get back in a rebate. I ask now if they charge extra for using credit card. Didn't realize until a few months ago that I could have been scoring with COSTCO via their premium membership plan that gives rebates as well. I have now opted for this because after a few purchases the rebates more than cover the purchase of the membership. Snickers question for anyone out there. I purchased some after Christmas Snickers the end of December. Bummer on the taste - had too much caramel or something. Does anyone know if they have changed the formula over the years?
