Thanks for the info on the beans. I too just had a fail with one of my jars of beans. For my next batch I used 1 & 1/3 cup and it worked out just fine.

On this bread, do you think if you added a bit of baking powder it would help? I like this idea because I don't like to waste

I have 11 of those containers of yeast in my freezer. I'll open and keep in 4 oz bottles.

First thing ... this will work once, right? After that? No live bacteria left, no? .......... Oh ... "soft white wheat" is good for flatbread. No need for yeast. Need to try. That and tortillas from corn (with lime treatment).

This may not be sourdough, but it does have the benefits of sourdough which is to "ferment" the flour slightly and remove some of the "anti-nutrients" (ex. phytates, tannins, goitrogens). Slow rise dough is better for you.

You're getting 25+oz for $37. You come out ~$6/4 fl. oz. McCormick All Natural Pure Vanilla Extract, 4 fl oz =~ $16. I see a barterable sideline. At the very least a cool gift. You could sell for $12 now, more later. Keep the cheap vodka for barter. Keep the beans vac sealed and add to your payday preps. Yes, $32 on ETSY for 10 beans, maybe S&H Make it up as needed. Sell on the side now, see how it goes. The last one whole IS cool, but maybe slice open and not scrape to let absorb faster.

What I like about your channel is that it's not all of this "tactical, real man, Ooh-AHH" focus. You were Army. I was USNR/merchant marine. i get it ... guns ... bullets ... perimeter. BUT ... most of any SHTF will be holding down the essentials and (unlikely) NOT holding off "zombies". Granted, that's important, but not as important as making a loaf of bread from scraps. I also like your financial and political analysis. Keep it up.

if you'll look at this, there are several things you'll find interesting. These include a potato press (17:44), bread making using remnant dough (18:09 - don't know much), and some milking/cheese making. (4:50 ... earlier) .... In all, the village looks healthy and happy and self-sufficient. I taught with a guy from Romania. Good people. If I were to travel, THIS is where I'd go. https://youtu.be/SoLCD3rP9DM
