Dylan Holcomb

Hassan Jameel

i support anything u do to watch more code geass bro

Ryuuji Gremory

It's a bit sad that you have to switch but if this is necessary for you to properly enjoy the show and continue reacting to it that's what counts, there is no sense in you having to force yourself to do it.

demonic-myst

Since u brought up deathnite lelouch is actualy compared to light when debating smart characters in anime these shows are often lumoed together for having smart protaganists main diference between light and lelouch is lelouch isnt a socio path he is as smart but he isnt heartless

Katsura Kotaro

didn't know that dub was also good until you switch into it.

SkyTheSpy

Yo Neel, I know you are a busy lad, but where are the Fire Force reactions? It seems like your main priority is Code Geass, which is fine although it would be preferred for you to balance Fire Force more as well if you are able, you are at a significant part of the show.

AriaN 06

When are you gonna react to 2nd SAO movie Neel? I've been waiting for it for a month . Also, you said you will react to OP/ED'S aswell

Samedi

I don't understand why people like the sub more, you don't speak Japanese, you are reading, not paying attention to what people are saying. Dub is the way to go 100%, there is very very very rare occasions where they voice actors completely drop the ball in the English dubs, but nobody watches those animes.

Zhao Tang

I know both Japanese and English. English dubs are sometimes cringe because the translation is too straightforward, so the tone of dub may not fit the character, especially female character, perfectly. Japanese is a very subtle language and often omits words, such as second pronoun, to avoid being too straightforward. So the tone of Japanese is usually softer.

IMO the quality of voice acting is way better in japanese than english and also due to the fact that english isnt my first language im used to digesting content in their original language and it helps to just read subtitles anyway.

Hey Neel, I strongly suggest when watching this anime please don't compare the fictional countries/districts in it to the prototypical countries/districts in the real world or make jokes about the political system, it can cause a lot of conflict in the political stance of viewers from different countries/districts.

Doodlez

99% of stuff is objectivly better in the original language. For me its like Original 9 to 10/10 and dubs are like 5-9/10 :/

Ryuuji Gremory

That's a lot of assumption there. At this point I do understand Japanese without much problem as long as there is context and English isn't my mother tongue either way, so why would I prefer an English dub? Furthermore even before I learned to understand Japanese there is a lot of things you get from the voices, the tone, the emotions etc., without understanding them and I never had trouble paying attention to what is happening and what is written on the screen. Also there are regular instances where the voice actors drop the ball in the English dubs or the script changes stuff up, be it inserting stupid memes, mistranslating things, inserting political agenda or censoring what was said. Japanese dubs on the other hand are more or less always top quality way beyond that of the average English dubs, like even with Code Geass which having a pretty good dub there are some lines and voices, especially in the support cast, where I can't help but to cringe. There is no chance of a 3rd party inserting any BS into it that isn't supposed to be there, it's the closest to what the creator intended it to be. (Well if the anime adaptation itself is shit there can be BS inserted where it doesn't belong, but that's a different topic) So really there is no reason why I personally should ever take a English dub above the original. In Neels case he doesn't just watch for himself, he also has to provide entertainment at the same time, with that extra burden/pressure I can totally understand him switching to dub, having an easier time reacting to it and enjoying it way more. Hell generally if you simple prefer dubs, hey you do you don't let me stop you, but don't go making blanket statements like that.

Yes, Suzaku Kururugi is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal (Sasuke in dub), He is also the voice actor of spider man in ps5
