Keep in mind Hinata didn't just almost body Rimuru, she easily stomped his ass without effort and it only stayed at almost because Rimuru managed to fake his own death. Not saying that means she is stronger than current Rimuru but she was waaay stronger than Rimuru back then.

The WN isn't canon though. The LN is the official version and it's what both the anime and the manga follow.

Id like if you watch it. Also apart from the 3 ovas that were recently released, there is a short ova that covers the part in season 1 when Rimuru summons the demon "Berreta" that serves Ramiris. They skipped that part in s1 so if you want you can react to it.
