To answer your question, it aired in 2012 with a 1 year break between seasons iirc It was one of the few shows I followed at that time, so I looked forward to them every time. It feels quite nice to watch these again with you. And unlike popular belief, it's really not as bad as people claim it to be. Although the 2nd season was my least favorite one hope you'll keep the pace and get through that one fast personally :P Enjoy the vacation!

since its so old and it may have been one of the first "isekai" genre (not really) to have ever come out; the story and plot development IMO are lacking compared to most modern titles. AND I did love this when I first started watching anime but as I progressed it delved deeper down into a "classic" category :( still a nice watch tho :)

Saying the word "most" modern titles is a bit rough. The majority of anime are ass, it's just that people look at the really popular ones and think everything is good. In my opinion at least, you sorta have to judge Isekai shows based on other isekai shows. Since so many of them are very bad. So for an Isekai show SAO is Good-Mid. It's not bad, not horrible. This isn't in another world with a smartphone.

Your icon will not turn orange if you fight a player with orange cursor - otherwise both Kirito and Asuna would've gotten it in this episode and it would've been brought up. Trick is - as was shown in episode 4, orange guilds oftentimes have green players among them to lure people into a trap, and Kuradeel could say he got one thus the color change

Thing is - SAO is not isekai, and is specifically written not as one. Nor does SAO needs a lot of bad isekai to be good in comparison - it has already proven itself as a story, it even got the title of Light novel of a decade by 2020 in Japan.

I like to believe Kuradeel called Kirito a murderer because he knew it would hurt him psychologically. Also that moment when he was at Asuna's place and said he only wanted to stay in the same room Kirito couldn't do anything against it. His Cockblock Skill is such a high level that it works on himself too.
