Whoa there! You can’t watch the 60th anniversary specials when they air, there’s no way you’ll be sufficiently caught up to not be spoiled on major aspects of the fates of certain companions you haven’t met yet.

RAJ

Oh and it is on IPlayer in Britain. It’s the rest of the world that have to use Disney+

Season 3 overall is rated much better than season 2, with a strong start, a middling middle section, followed by a run of 6 episodes leading to the finale that is probably the best run of episodes in a block up to that time in NuWho. Season 4 is even better, with hardly a dud in the entire run and is thought of as being one of the very best seasons of NuWho! That’s not to say that season 5 onwards isn’t good, because it is, but season 4 is so highly thought of and loved! Alan, you are gonna have a blast, and we’re all gonna have a blast watching it alongside you! Can’t wait to see your reactions to all of it!

Wonderful reaction yet again, regarding the 60th anniversary shows I would not know how to advise you regarding whether to watch them or not incase of spoilers , do not forget there is the 50th anniversary celebration shows whicn you have a few seasons before you reach those. If it was me I would carry on with the path you are on but that is up to you.

Alan, a couple of points I would like to say, Oh great reaction by the way. First "Who is she" that my friend is Donna Noble; I can't say any more (Spoilers). Second I can only think that Disney offered the BBC so much money that they couldn't refuse or Disney didn't like the idea that a British show was so popular in the USA. But if that money goes' back into making Dr Who better so be it. And yes it gets a lot more wibbly wobbly, timy wimy from now on.

“This is the story of how I died.” Yeah in hindsight now I’m 25 and not 7 anymore, it does sound like baiting the audience with emotional tension. But this is indeed Rose Tyler’s farewell. This is the first genuine loss of the show. Like you mentioned, the Doctor’s changed his face to save himself from dying but he hasn’t properly died, Rose hasn’t properly died either but as far as the Doctor’s concerned, she’s trapped now in a parallel world that’s sealed off and the two can never meet again. It’s a truly shocking moment when she might go flying into that void, Tennant giving his acting all, seriously an impeccable moment of acting that scream from him as she’s pulled towards the abyss of the void, a scream of “I’ve just gotten my best friend killed”, if I hadn’t loved him as an actor already in this show that moment sealed it for me. Best actor to play the part bar none. But he has pretty much lost her in almost every sense of the word, his best friend, his emotional support after the trauma of the Time War, the person who got him to love travelling and having fun again, he’s lost her, and he’ll never quite forgive himself for losing her. I absolutely bawled my eyes out when this broadcast. But, lol, you say “and it still gets better than this” it really does. And in terms of episode quality it does. This is a great series finale, but almost all of its merits come from handling Rose’s departure. The conflict between Daleks and the Cybermen had been long anticipated by fans, and it was squandered by how utterly one sided it was. Not much can be done about that since the revived show redesigned the Daleks to be literally indestructible, but it doesn’t exactly make for very tense action sequences. Great reaction though, next up is the 2006 Christmas special The Runaway Bride. Also SUPER IMPORTANT at least from my perspective and probably others here: DON’T WATCH THE NEW SPECIALS ON DISNEY PLUS! So, Disney Plus owns the distribution rights to new DW episodes internationally through the platform there, but these 60th anniversary specials are new episodes that follow on from Series 13 of New Who and therefore will only make sense and feature characters that haven’t been introduced in the show yet from what you’ve watched so far, so…much will be lost on you. This is going to suck to hear, but lay off on them until you’ve gotten through the rest of Nu Who first. That would be my advice.

Philip Green, don’t know if Alan has said previously about whether he wants to know about spoilers or not, but probably best to not mention what happens in season 3. Whatever he learns regarding seeing old enemies or monsters for the first time, it will only make him more keen to eventually see them once they appear in Classic Who. I guess, had we seen it, Alan would have witnessed that with School Reunion, and like other reactors watching NuWho for the first time (and then watching Classic Who afterwards), it doesn’t seem to spoil their fun when they watch the very first Dalek or Cyberman story after seeing their introduction in NuWho! If anything it prepares them for the magnitude of what those introductory stories meant for those seeing them for the very first time, all those years ago!

Just been getting into Torchwood since I got a vortex manipulator replica ( Captain Jack’s Device) You should start watching the first season of Torchwood when you start series 3 of Doctor Who. The finale of Torchwood starts at episode 11 of Doctor Who, if that makes sense. It’s basically the same time frame as dr who and torchwood

I have dropped a couple of hint comments, but now we have reached the end of Rose & The Dr, you really need to cover the one episode you seem to have ignored so far, that being 'School Reunion'. It is the one episode that brings classic Dr Who into the new series, it reintroduced possibly the best known companion from the past into the present day, it introduces a character that gets her own spin off series because of how well she is received in this series, and when she reappears in later episodes you will not know her. Sorry for any spoilers but going forward if you have spun past this episode you will be a little lost later on. Love your reactions, but please meet Sarah Jane Smith... :-)
