Hi Everyone!

This is the complete set of Part 1 of Build-A-'Bastion'. Build-A-Bastion is a set of modular tiles and parts you (or your players) can use to quickly build a Player Base or stronghold, and adjust or expand it over time!

Part 1 includes a variety of Basic Facilities, such as Bedrooms, Dining Rooms, Kitchens, Parlors, Courtyards, Storage Rooms, and Washrooms, as well as modular add-on parts like Doors, Windows, Corridors, Fireplaces, Stairs and Closets.

Part 2 will be coming soon, and will include Special Facilities such as a Study, Barracks, Armory, Stable, War Room, Guildhall, Trophy Room, Laboratory, Garden, Sanctuary, Theater and much more to allow you to really customise your Bastions for different needs, and Defensive Walls to protect your Bastion from outside forces.

If these sets are popular we may create more themed sets in the future! Let me know what you would like to see.

These tiles are designed to work with the new 'Bastion' rules in the Dungeons & Dragons 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide that releases today, however you do not need to use those rules in any way to make use of the tile set.

How to Build Your Own Bastion With These Tiles

These tile sets have been designed to allow you to very quickly and easily put together a Bastion map in 3 steps:

Step 1: Arrange your Room Tiles

Step 2: Connect Rooms with Corridors where needed

Step 3: Add in 'Parts' such as Doors, Windows, Fireplaces and Closets

Rooms can be swapped out or added in, so your Bastion can grow and change over time as your Party's renown (and bank account) increases.

The tiles are all designed to easily snap together on a grid, so will work perfectly with any VTT or Image Editor that allows some version of Grid Snapping. Just make sure to set your grids to 1 inch, and if necessary set your DPI/PPI to 300 for the 'Print' versions or 140 for the 'VTT' versions.

The intended size in inches/grid squares of each tile is denoted at the end of the file name.
eg 'TC_Bastion Basic_Bedroom Roomy 03_Wood_5x4' is 5 inches/grid squares wide and 4 inches/grid squares high.

D&D DMG 2024 Bastion Ruleset

These tiles can be used with the new Bastion ruleset included in the 2024 Dungeon Masters Guide that released today. The only way to see the full ruleset is to buy the DMG, either physically or digitally.

However if you want to check out the Bastion rules before/without getting the new DMG, you can see the public Unearthed Arcana version of the rules HERE and watch this video by Nerd Immersion that explains in detail the differences between the UA version of the rules and the final published version (TLDR, its not that different)

What program would you suggest I get my players to use to put together their Bastion? I'll be importing them in to Foundry for play.

Hi Tim, I use Photoshop. The first 4 minutes or so of this video explain how to set up the canvas with 1 inch grids in Photoshop at the required dpi if your players want to do it that way - https://youtu.be/pcIJI0afEbA?si=t0PhQV51Ws65qQe1. Other image editing software, Like GIMP which is a free photoshop clone, will be able to do the same but I am not as familiar with the setup process. A quick search on how to setup canvas size and grids should be easy enough though. They could also set it up in Foundry itself.

I was just thinking about how I was going to implement bastions, and you provided the answer. This is great! Are there plans to include these as prefabs in Dungeondraft? Thanks a ton!

I just subscribed to you and I'm already getting treats like this? This is perfect for the game I'm running

Can't wait for the Dungeondraft integration, this is what I've been wanting for years but never knew it possible. Thank you so much for this, would love more of this kind of thing in the future too
