Okie dokie. Let me explain.

Years ago... centuries ago? When All of the Above was released, we had a CD Release party at a super cool venue in Monterrey. My whole family was there, along with a lot of our friends.

Having very little experience playing live, it was suuuuper comforting to be in a room full of people that were all on our side. The musicians you see/hear on this video are the same ones that played on the album (except Ian, who was replacing original bassist Andres Ascanio).

I love the videos of this gig. Watching them makes me feel melancholy. And super fortunate to know these incredible musicians, and to have been able to record and perform with them

I had some clips on Youtube of the CD Release part on an old channel but quickly removed them when Dragonborn went viral. People linked the malufenix channel with the judithonline one and these vids got so many ugly comments. I was more overweight then, and had no experience with people pointing that out quite cruelly. Now, I can just easily go "FFFFFF off". But it was shocking when it first happened.

And this leads me to another thing... How much I've changed since then. I was mortified at that show. The nerves faded away when I started singing each song... but between songs, I wanted to run away. I had no idea what to say and felt like a big doofus. Haha! I think I've managed to... how can I say it... Just grow into myself? Does that make sense? Twitch has helped.

I'm proud to see that I've been slowly and steadily crossing out items from my "This Mortifies Me" list. It's getting shorter. And life is getting better. <3

Thank you for reading. I did not expect to write so much. hahaha! :D

Hugs,
Malu

PS: Musicians: Jack DeBoe (drums), Alexander Knutsen (el guitar), Matthew Gelfer (violin), Ian... crap. What is Ian's last name? ah, Kagey. Ian Kagey (bass) and on backgrounds Jorge Monterrubio, David De la Garza and Angelica Monterrubio.
