I really can't keep surprises. I've been looking at this image for the past few days and still can't believe it, and I needed to tell someone. Or someoneseses. Cause there's more than one of you.

I contacted artist Ilya Salnikov to ask if I could use the portrait he had made years ago of me as a bard in a tavern. He was super nice and said yes! He did not accept payment for this, as much as I insisted.

I started putting together the artwork. My plan was to keep that main image and the rest of the CD black with white font. Simple. But, once I saw everything laid out, I thought... "hmmmmm... what if instead of all black, there could be some sort of textured background. Just so it's not so plain."

I contacted Ilya to ask if he was interested/available for hire to create this textured background. My suggestion was for him to have some brown brush strokes in different tones... or something. Haha! I fail at art.

He answered, "I have an idea... hold on."

This was his idea. Freaking brilliant.

I feel that out of all the Malukahs in the world, I am the luckiest. Seriously. And it reminds me of how incredible asking others for help can be. <3

And he still won't accept payment!

But I will figure out some sort of gift I can send him. And I will share his work as much as possible.

I'm so excited about this album. Ilya made it even better. I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't waaaaaait!

Hugs,
Malukah
