This is just a quick time-laps of my process of how I created this image. From the horrible scribbles, I first plot the idea I have in my head and see how it goes. As you can first see, I originally toyed with having his leg up, presenting himself. But felt he needed to give off more of a 'top' vibe.

Then once Im happy with the basic rough position, I refine the line work and then add base colours, building it up slowly, adding more and more details like fur texture and shadows (once I figure out where the light sources, around the character, are coming from).

Then the final stages are constant tweaking of light and effects like dust in the light and light shine from the weapon. Even at the final stages, I needed to tweak his muzzle and head size as I felt they were a bit too small. Also the weapon in his muzzle, I felt the blade was too thin so expanded it.

Obviously this time-laps wont show the hours and hours I spent trying to make sure it works with the clothes off. Having the hood up meant I had to make sure the ears were on layers I could turn off to hide under the hood. Also the hood up effected the shadow on the floor.

For some reason I complicated it early on with lighting which had to change when the clothes were on or when removed. It ended up taking me 5 days to complete, but again thats cause I complicated it for myself with trying different versions and not settling on just one version. Hense why I decided to post so many alt versions, as I didnt want all that effort to just be for nothing xD
