Monkey Business in Gravesfield 2 - or ‘A Tale of a Saiyan, a Basilisk, and a Human’ (Post-DBZ Xenoverse x Pre-Finale The Owl House, Saiyan!OC)

Vee Noceda wanted this school year to be perfect.

While it was true she was the furthest thing from a proper human, as a Basilisk she still managed to find a peace within her new life here in Gravesfield that nowhere else someone like her could.

Camila Noceda, her foster mother, was the best parent ever! She taught her so much, and the pure love that the woman had for her was so strong she couldn’t help but have to put her best out to make things right. In a sense, that had been a difficult thing to cope with when it came to match with Luz’s chaotic behavior.

Still, it worked. Sorta.

And then a whole lot happened and… and Vee was now Luz’s foster sister and the only one of the Noceda girls that was now enrolled at Gravesfield High. This decision was not one driven by a worry or any issue- Luz wanted to study at Hexside now that she developed some magic while also spending more time with her friends and girlfriend.

In Vee’s mind, this was a fair desire to have after all she went through.

Plus, it gave her some of the ‘odd normalcy’ that she had started to love about the human world. Between Highs and Lows, the young Basilisk was ready to enjoy the beautiful thing that was the high school experience! And… she also wanted to get somewhere beyond mere friendship with Masha.

Despite all that courage boost she was proud to have acquired in the last few months, the young basilisk was, by all means, afraid of Masha’s reaction once they realized what Vee truly was.

After all she wasn’t exactly a pleasant thing to the eye, so that was going to be awkward for her to sell as a ‘quality trait’ as her foster mom defined it. Vee could spot a well-meaning lie at first glance, yet… she really wanted that to be the truth for once.

Still! That wasn’t a reason to give up just yet. Vee was not a quitter, not anymore at least, and she was planning to get somewhere with her new wonderful life, both with her education and with love!

So, this very day caught her off-guard. Massively.

It all started when she began the school day as usual. Got through breakfast, thanked mom for the hard work to make her some breakfast through the special magical ingredients that allowed her stomach to digest the meal, and then rushed off to get to the school bus.

Masha was there and they were happy as Vee asked to sit beside them. The ride to school was pleasant, thus nothing to lament about. And then she got a bit of a surprise when she felt him.

At first, she didn’t think it was a proper living being such as a human- or humanoid in shape. Yet, as Vee perceived the ominous amount of energy being emitted by the entity, she tried to track it down between classes.

Right by the class before lunchtime, Vee found the source of that worrisome amount of power, the kind of which she couldn’t further recognize as it wasn’t magic at all. The source was… a boy that was talking in a friendly manner with Masha.

A frown adorned Vee’s face as she tried to identify this guy and… he was no one she was familiar with. So, who was he? Why was he at their school and… why was he being this close and personal with Masha?

That last bit was out of envy as she hardly could get anywhere close to the confident girl, but… but Vee was more concerned in that regard. He was so powerful- way too powerful for this for him to be normal.

After they were done talking, Vee mustered every ounce of bravery within her frail body and marched up to Masha.

“Hm?” Masha looked up from their phone and smiled. “Oh, hi Vee.”

“M-Masha, I… who was that guy?”

“Oh? You mean Jay?” Masha hummed, their smile growing. “Do you remember that guy friend I told you about? The one that went out for a full year out of Gravesfield?”

“That’s him?” Vee guessed and the fellow student nodded. “Not gonna lie, but you two looked quite-”

“Close?” The dark-haired student quipped, their smile faltering a moment. “I guess you can say I kind of have a ‘high dopamine moment’. He didn’t even tell me he was coming back- then again, strict school he went to as he had no time to use the phone. I swear, I am surprised those ugly schools still exist.”

Was this… a lie? Maybe it wasn’t even the same Jay. A copycat? Vee felt compelled to find out the truth but… Luz and the others were so busy at Hexside and she didn’t want to worry Camila if this wasn’t as big as it felt in her mind.

Still, that much power… why? How!?

Shaking herself out of those thoughts, Vee realized that Masha had been busy telling her a bit more about Jay. Stuff he was meant to know, stuff he should be. And the more Vee listened, the more she remembered Blade Runner. The movie had been an awesome pick from her foster mom and it was going to help her a bit.

As classes resumed, Vee wrote a message on a small piece of paper and then, after crumpling it up in a ball, snuck it on where Jay’s bag was as Masha had told her which one it was.

A quick move, and one that was going to bear some fruit as lunch break came and she felt him shift towards the storage room as her message had told him to go at this time.

Soon she entered the room, closing the door behind her, arms crossed as she focused a tough front on the fellow student. ‘Jay’ looked surprised, but mostly because he didn’t recognize her.

“Who are you?”

“My name is Vee Noceda… and I want to know who you are and what you have done to Jay Lloyd.”

‘Jay’ frowned. “What? I am Jay.”

“And yet you have a lot of power deep within.”

His eyes narrowed. “How do you know that?”

“I am good at it,” She answered curtly. “So, what happened to the real Jay?”

“You’re speaking to him,” He snarkily rebuked, causing the girl to growl.

“You are not human!” Vee exclaimed, her body ready to snap to stop him by absorbing her power, but-

“Y-You are not one either!” He snapped, eyes aimed in a glare back at her.

H-His energy is now more than double than it was just moments ago!!

“In fact, I would dare to say I would have not known something non-human was tagging along with my childhood friend. Give me a good reason why I shouldn’t vaporize you just now!”

Gulping nervously, Vee felt pressure as fear gripped at her heart. Her transformation almost unraveled at that unexpected feeling of being squished by mere air. Still, the girl endured and pushed forward.

“B-Because Masha is- is my friend too. And you are not a human so you can’t be his friend!”

“Stuff happened, that’s all I can say.”

“W-What is your first dog’s name?”

“...What?”

“Answer it!”

He was frowning for a while, but then Jay huffed. “Sparky. What about it?”

“What was the gift you made Masha for their birthday after you two started being friends?”

“A skateboard, one they crashed two days later and their parents took from them,” Jay replied flatly, retrieving his phone. “I still have pictures. Here.”

There was proof- even though Masha had told her that wasn’t true. Vee held back a smile at how silly her crush looked back then, focusing more on the interrogation. The tension was lessening the more they talked, and the possibility of him being a copycat slowly vanished as it became clear that-

“Y-You really are Jay!”

The boy frowned. “Yeah, so?”

“It’s just… why do you have so much energy in your body?” The basilisk asked, floored on what was really going on. “Like, this is not normal for a human.”

“As I said, stuff happened,” He yawned. “So, what are you?”

“...Stuff.”

Jay’s eyes widened massively. “Y-You-”

“I mean, I am always changing and I kind of can’t tell!”

“That makes no sense,” The ‘human’ rebuked, and Vee pouted.

“N-Not my fault you decided to make it difficult.”

“It’s more of a complex story,” He corrected. “Still, you don’t seem a threat to Masha. So, can I go now or-”

Jay paused as a loud ‘gurgle’ reached their ears. Instinctively, Vee brought her hands to her belly. She forgot to eat before the meeting, and they have been there for a while now.

“Seriously?”

“...Sorry. My belly can be quite demanding.”

“So, do you need food? I have a snack here,” He hummed, fishing out a chocolate bar… and then frowned as he saw the awkward look on Vee’s face. “What?”

“I don’t eat regular food. I eat magic.”

“What?”

“L-Look, I can’t explain, I just need to go back to class-” Which may be in session at this point, Vee realized. “And get my meal.”

Jay appeared thoughtful. “Do you eat magic or energy?”

“B-Both. I can’t eat human’s life force so-” Vee’s response was cut short as she saw a soft ball of yellow light manifest on his open palm. Her eyes were fixed on the dense energy, her mouth salivating instinctively at that delicious thing.

“Does this work?”

“Y-Yeah- I mean, are you sure I can?”

“This is the tiniest speck of Ki I can produce,” Jay answered flatly, then sighed. “And Ki is kind of a way to call the power I have. It’s still pure energy.”

Blinking at this explanation, Vee slowly relented as the hunger demanded her sustenance. And as she started to slowly draw strings of gold out of that sphere, she felt her body shudder stiff, her eyes closed shut as she felt jolts rock her frame entirely and… and then the bliss was over.

W-Was that a Foodgasm?!

“Good?”

She slowly nodded at Jay’s curt question, her belly quite full at this point. “I-It was good.”

“Glad to hear that, and I will be going back to class,” He announced, walking around her and opening the door. “Oh, and Vee?”

She glanced over her shoulder and she saw him giving her a strong look. “Y-Yeah?”

“Don’t tell this to Masha. It’s not your secret to tell.”

And he was gone, leaving Vee to pick herself up and consider what to do with what had happened. Luckily for her, the teacher believed she had been feeling her ‘monthly sickness’ and went a long while to the bathroom because of it.

Still…

What am I supposed to do now that Masha’s childhood friend is kind of like me in terms of non-humanity?!

Poor Vee and her mixed feelings on the matter.

Also, as a bribe, here’s some butt.

Is that my boy Touma as the face claim here!? That made this twenty times more awesome.

Nice! So how strong is Jay when compared to the rest of DB Verse? And was he after Xenoverse 1 or also 2? What’s his highest form right now? God? Blue? UI?

socialistbukharin

He is third strongest as of now as he managed to get to SSG. It is right after X1, so he has not learned about Blue, UI, and UE.

Pedro Jose Bello Belen

Alright, thanks for answering. Also I know the main focus would be slice of life, but will he and even the girls get dragged into Xenoverse 2? And, just making sure, did the MC get SSJ4, 3, Mystic or any other form before God?

socialistbukharin

I don't think it will get to X2 plot or, not as extensively to matter. Still, Jay's current forms are SSJ1, 2, 3, and SSG.

Pedro Jose Bello Belen

My only regret is that there’s no SSJ4 if only because the tail makes it plausible to get, but still good fic overall.
