One of the things we talked internally about is how to depict the strangers and passerby type figures in the VN, because we can't do sprites for literally every person. But on the flip side, the world seems empty if you're trying to give the game a sense of scale.

We came up with a silhouette technique inspired partly by theater and Utena to show nobles without names, strangers, people in the streets etc. in a silhouette'd form. This allows us for instance in Dizzy Hearts to show people in the street, at parts, crowds of people and even Aunyrae's wives without having to draw sprites or design hundreds of people separately, this design is /very/ flexible. I just wanted to share this idea with you all, you'll see this in action in our upcoming DH demo rerelease, and we plan to do a variant of it in the Menagerie patch to show more of the nameless nobles.
