Well, this took a very unexpected and very unfortunate turn. Around the end of last week...I caught covid. It was actually my first time having it after almost 4 years of it going around. And ironically, I received both my booster and flu shot two days before I got sick, so it was an immediate test for my new vaccines. However as you're reading this, I'm doing much better. It was only a few days that it left me feeling sick and the rest I was able to get myself back to work. And now  I only have a fraction of cold symptoms to get rid of before I'm fully back to normal. Still, I didn't need this when I had all of these reviews to work on and the holidays to take care of. With that said, here's what I've been working on this week.

- Released my review of The Boy and the Heron: This proved to be a real challenge to make, not because of the movie itself or the lack of materials to work with (I was able to make the most out of it with mostly using images that I took from the trailer), but it was because my covid was at its worst around the time I needed to work on this. I had to delay my time working on it so that I prioritize on my health, and as I was slowly getting better, I was using this to put myself back to making videos again. I even had to do some acting for this to make it sound like I'm not sick while recording. It was honestly tough to get through, but I was able to make the most out of it and I'm satisfied with how it turned out, even with the extra obstacles that I had to get through to make it. With that said, the movie itself was a great experience. Maybe it wasn't as amazing as I thought with the show first act and Mahito isn't as developed other than "He misses his mom", but the rest is still that beautiful Ghibli goodness that you come to expect from the studio. It make the comeback of Hayao Miyazaki worth it.

- Created my review of Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever: As the people on YouTube voted that I would make a review of the next Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, I've made some changes to this month's schedule so that I could fit this one in. And like I mentioned, I made a vlog-style review so that I can go easy on myself while working on everything else and it would be fun and quick to edit. It definitely did the trick where I was able to do all that I needed with it and have it be done in no time. Even with the editing, I still made it interested and sprinkled it with clips of the movie to show what I was talking about, so it will be able to do the job. As for when it's coming out, I know it was last week that it was released on Disney+ last week, but I figured it would work out best to have it out by next week to have it be closer to Christmas. It can work out as my holiday video for the year. At least that's another review done.

- Created my review of Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget: While I had some time, I figured that I'd also jump into this review for the time being so that I'd get ahead of this too. With what I have scheduled, this will be the last review and the last video to release for this year.  Admittedly, I've always felt skeptical about this movie because I never felt like Chicken Run needed a sequel, especially when I love the first movie. I won't doubt that there will be some things that will be good about it like the animation, but I just don't feel sure about how they can continue the narrative when all the loose ends were tied up at the end of the first. I'll see if it is worth it, but it'll be hard to expect something that will be in the leagues of the first.

- Currently working on my review of Migration: Surprisingly enough, I was able to get an early screening of Migration. That is why I've done some extra switches to the schedule where the review will be out at the same time as its release while Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget will be the week after (despite being recently released). This one seems interesting because the premise doesn't seem all that interesting, but I am intrigued of the fact that it is directed by the man who did Ernest and Celestine, Benjamin Renner. I'll even admit that some parts of the trailers gave me a good laugh, so there may be something special within this, who knows? I'm finding out right now and will have that review ready by next week next to Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

So that was my insane week of recovering from covid and working on all 4 of December's animated movies in one week (I didn't finish them all in just on week, but having all of these productions happen in that same week is still crazy). Soon I will feel completely fresh, not only will I (hopefully) no longer feel sick, but I won't have to worry about any more reviews for new releases for a good while. The heavy load of the end of 2023 is almost over, and I can't wait to have some time to relax. So, until next time...

See ya later, dudes!
