Update Blog - 9/24/22 (Patreon)

Yes, as you have seen this week, my videos will start to get a little weirder. I've recently been clearing out some Patreon requests and commissions and now you will start to see the result of that outcome. Some will be bizarre, some will be more curious, but you will learn that I don't reserve the craziness only for my podcast. So here's what's been going on during my week.

- Released my review of New Cutie Honey: Well, this anime was...something. I'll admit that this one was not an easy find, but once I did, it became one of the most unusual things I had to watch for a review. I think the weirdest part about it is that it really borders between your typical magical girl anime and a full-on hentai. The girls bare it all, but never once does any sex get involved with this. At least Osamu Tezuka's Cleopatra was a bit more unapologetic with what it wants to be. This feels like it wants to get laid, but it keeps restraining itself to do so, making it an unsure experience if I should be feeling horny or if I should get more engaged with the action. I mean, it's decently built for what it is, but the whole thing just feels confusing for what it wants to be. Maybe there are better versions of Cutie Honey out there, but I don't think this is the best of the bunch, at least from the perspective of a newcomer that is.

- Working on the next AniMat's Classic Reviews: I think it's safe to say that this was the more fun part of my week. Getting back into ACR and I'm already starting off real strong so far with Wallace & Gromit. It has honestly been a while since I've seen the movie, but I can say now that I had a real good time returning to it and revisit a very good adventure like this one. I can tell you more about it, but then again. I think I'll save that for when the review comes ;) Anyways, in terms of the progress of the ACRs, I got the Wallace & Gromit one done and now I'm starting the one after. I don't think that one will take me too long. I'll work on it a bit during the weekend and then I'll have it done in time to jump into the next big project. It's been more of a reviewing week for me, but I'm happy to be getting myself fully back in the game and give more focus to my videos.

- Created another Art Commission: Another one? Well, the funny thing is that I had two people who made their pledge for an Art Commission around the same time. That's why you've been seeing me in a bit of a "drawing" mood lately. Anyways, what I was asked for this one is for the commissioner's OCs together and looking at the sunset on a grassy cliff. I'll admit that I don't often draw animals, but I did the best I can to take their characters and translate them onto my style. I'm actually happy with how this looks, even one of the rare moments that I even made my own background for this to do the cliff and the evening sky behind them. It's a cute little piece and I'm happy with how it turned out. And that was my week of getting a few small errands out of the way and finally returning to put my focus on the reviews. We'll be getting into a new month starting next week and I know that I'll have to prepare myself for the big festivities that will be coming...and I don't mean Halloween. So, until next time...
