Update Blog - 8/13/22 (Patreon)

After an incredibly busy summer where animation made a big comeback to theaters (especially with Minions: The Rise of Gru becoming a celebrated hit) and some still popped up in streaming, I can finally have a break from making these sudden reviews and return to purely focusing on some of my bigger projects. It was a heck of a ride while balancing all that with my life outside of videos (which got more busy than even I expected), but I feel like I now have more time to catch up and put myself back on my schedule with all the upcoming content I have in store, including the next part of AL: The Muppets. With that said, here's what happened during my week.

- Released my review of Luck: Ah yes, John Lasseter's big comeback after getting fired from Disney for his toxic behavior and sexual misconducts. Some may say that it shouldn't be surprising that his grand return with Luck sucked, but what I didn't expect is how it's a massive mixed bag. Taking away the Lasseter aspect out of this, I'll give it that the animation is very nice and it does have a solid voice cast. Those elements are done quite well. However, that script is easily one of the worst of the year. With that broken-down story and bland characters, this really does feel like a desperate attempt to make a Disney film. If we do include John into the equation, then this is all just sad to see how this makes him look desperate to try to recapture that Disney magic, but obviously doesn't have it anymore. As I said in the review, this is just proof that Lasseter has no place in animation anymore and he's better off retiring. I know there's a lot more coming from Skydance Animation, but I won't be excited for them if they end up giving us subpar content like Luck.

- Editing Animation Lookback: The Muppets: I got some good news with Part 2: I'm very close to finishing the video! I've been busy editing throughout the week and I'm becoming more and more confident that it's going to turn out fantastic! Admittedly, even during the editing process, I needed to do some extra revisions and corrections to make sure everything is intact and everything I say in there all stick to the facts, as well as keeping it all original so that you can learn even more about The Muppet Show and The Muppet Movie that may come to a surprise to even some Muppet fans out there. As you're reading this, all I need to do now is edit a few more things for the end and make the final revisions so that the whole video is ready. This one took an awful long time to get done (mainly because of the interruptions from other priorities like some reviews), but it's soon gonna be over and I'll be planning its premiere very soon!

And that's all there is to this week. Once I get Part 2 done, I'll have to start setting AL: The Muppets aside and get working on plenty of other projects that need my attention, including requests from some of you! The month is still fresh, so I'll need to make the most out of my time now. So, until next time...
