It's been such a long time since I had an early screening (I think the last time might've been more than 2 years ago with the first Sonic movie), but it feels great to get one and put out an early review so that my thoughts can come out right as the same time as the movie's release. The fact that it's with the Minions sequel, well...it could've been worse I guess XP Anyways, here's how my week has been.

- Created & Released my review of Minions: The Rise of Gru: Yes, throughout the week, the main thing that I did was getting to work on my review of Minions: The Rise of Gru. I got the screening on Monday, then spend whatever time I had to get the review created to be on time for the preview on Patreon and putting it up on YouTube without getting copyright claimed. By the way, it's also been a long time that I've been in a packed theatre with a very enthusiastic crowd. They were bursting with laughter and really getting on board with the Minions' adventure, on top of applauding at the end. At that moment, I knew that this will probably be the biggest animated hit of the year. If that means that this will be one of the best animated films of the year...I probably don't think so. Lightyear suddenly seems a lot more appealing now in comparison. As much as I enjoyed the Despicable Me films before, this one is starting to show some of its recycled materials. It's fine for what it is, it did made me laugh a few times, but even I'm getting worried if they're starting to overstay their welcome.

- Finished Editing the next Top 10: After several weeks in production, the video is finally done and ready! Outside of the Minions review, I was putting the finishing touches on the upcoming Top 10 and spent the time to make the revisions and make sure that everything is ready. I got a positive feeling that I got another hit on my hands with this one, along with a subject that will definitely grab some attention. The only question remains, however, will be the release date. Honestly, this might not come out for a while. Summer will be packed with plenty of new animated features to review, so at the latest, there is a chance that this could come out around the end of summer. However, it could come out earlier as well if I need more time to work on a new part of AL: The Muppets. Either way, I'm really happy with how this turned out and I can't wait to show you what I got this summer!

And that was my week where I ended my month by completing some big projects. Now that we're entering July, I got exciting new content coming your way and plenty more new reviews coming of films like The Sea Beast and Paws of Fury. Also, with that Top 10 done, I think it's time for me to bring back that puppet again and enter in our next big chapter with Jim and Kermit ;) So, until next time...

See ya later, dudes!

The franchise is never going to go away and I'm slowly seeing that as a bad thing.

With recent news indicating a fresh creative trajectory for Illumination, it’ll be for the best that “Despicable Me 4” officially bookends their era of Minions and the studio can move onto a new chapter. I highly doubt the “Despicable Me” franchise would reach “Ice Age” levels of desperate relevancy. Then again, you never know what the future may hold!

That’s great with the top 10. And I can’t wait for the upcoming reviews of Paws of Furry and especially The Sea Beast.
