Gumby the Movie next?

To think that "Emperor's New Groove" was a 5-month precursor to one of feature animation's most influential titles.

Before Deadpool and Lord and Miller became more popular in the 2010 decade in terms of making self aware humor, The Emperor’s New Groove did it first and it pull off fantastic. Definitely a great animated comedy film from Disney and I definitely would love to see it again in the future if I have free time.

I was actually first introduced to this movie through the the animated series the film is based on, The Emperor's New School, and I was not not disappointed in the slightest. This is easily my second favorite Disney animated film to come out during the post Disney Renaissance era in the early 2000's right behind Lilo And Stitch. On top of being one of the most hilarious animated films and probably one of the most hilarious movies I’ve ever seen. I mean who could ever forget such memorable quotes like "Pull the lever Kronk".

I’ll be 100% honest here. When I first saw this movie, I didn’t really like it. I didn’t hate it or anything, I just didn’t enjoy it like most of the other Disney movies at the time. But I think it’s because at that time, I wasn’t used to seeing Disney to a full on Comedy. I mean, before, Disney funniest movie was probably Aladdin, even though that film wasn’t meant to be a Comedy, so yeah, I wasn’t really into it at first. But as I got older, I have fully embraced it as a Comedy, and I can say with full confidence that I definitely love it now. And I agree, if animated films want to be a good Comedy, they really need to watch this film and take notes. And yeah AniMat, you weren’t lying when you said it’ll be hard for the next review to top it when the next review is Gumby the Movie, which is definitely a huge down grade from this one. I will say this now, while Gumby isn’t terrible by any means, it’s still not a great film, and not even some impressive stop motion animation can save it.
