As the month is coming to a close and we celebrate the return of our lord and savior the Easter Bunny, it is also a time where a near-2-year journey is finally reaching its conclusion. While I've spent some time taking care of myself, the biggest part of my week was finally finishing the last part of Animation Lookback: The Muppets. Admittedly, reaching that finish line took a bit more time than expected, but now that I'm here with a completed video, I'm excited to show you what I have in store with the finale. With that said, other things happened during the week as well. So here's what I got to report.

  • Released my review of S.O.B.: I am aware that this is a very unusual movie for me to take a look at. In fact, this is a bit of the opposite of what I regularly review by going from family-friendly animated films to a raunchy R-rated live-action movie. However, despite its dark depiction of Hollywood with all the lust, drugs and no sense of human empathy, I feel like I've been requested to talk about a hidden gem. Sure, not everything aged well like with some out-of-place stereotypes, but the way it slams the Hollywood system and wild characters makes the satirical side feel still relevant with how the entertainment industry is being run today. I think this is the kind of film that deserves a second chance form the public to check out. Yes, there are some clickbaity aspect to draw some people in like Julie Andrews being more "revealing", but there is so much more you get from this film that I feel like deserves to have an audience to experience this. I think the whole movie is available to watch for free on YouTube, so if you haven't gotten the chance yet, see it for yourself and you'll know what I'm talking about with how crazy and enjoyable this is.

  • Finished Editing the Final Part of Animation Lookback: The Muppets: After a few weeks of finding all the materials needed and putting all the pieces together, I am happy to say that Animation Lookback: The Muppets' grand finale is ready to be released. I'll admit that there were some challenges along the way, including finding some footage of Jim Henson making the part's main subject was pretty much impossible and had to resort to a Plan B to fill those visual gaps, but now that I've completed everything, I feel proud of how this turned out and accomplished of finishing something that I've set up for a year. And I don't just mean the whole series, but I also mean for this part where I made materials for this that I've saved for about a whole year at this point. Also, after I finished that part, I worked on making the completed version with all the parts together just like I did last time with AL: Walt Disney Animation Studios +. This time, however, I also did some small corrections for this one to make sure that any little mistakes were corrected and added an extra trivia or 2 to deliver the full Muppet History experience in one massive video. Get ready for next week, because it will be a glorious 3-hour finale! (I actually only got under 30 minutes)

  • Started working on the next AniMat’s Classic Reviews: Once the work on AL: The Muppets was done, It was time for me to return to some smaller projects and have them ready for the near future, especially when I don't have any videos prepared to release, so I gotta start catching up! I was able to do a couple more TikTok videos and get into reviewing again for ACR so that they will be my next projects to get into. Because AL: The Muppets took most of the time this week, the most I've done so far is preparation like getting the materials I need to get into the actual review. However, while the Easter festivities will be going on and doing some other errands like preparing next week's uploads and setting up the next episode of the podcast, I'll be ready to dive into the next movie for me to watch. In a way, I'm setting myself up to keep myself busy for next week. Again, I have no other videos prepared to release, so I better get started!

And that was my week of completing not just an anticipated video, but also a major series I've had going on for a while. I can't wait to show you what I've done with the last part, because I set my own bar very high to make this the best video on this particular Muppet project. Everything you'll want to know will come very soon, including what the next AL is going to be. So, until next time...

See ya later, dudes!

Hey Animat, can you give us a hint on what the next Animation Lookback will be?

Glad to hear the final part of Animation Lookback: The History of the Muppets is finally finished and we are all definitely anticipated to see it once it uploads to YouTube and you’ve done such a great job on the Lookback so far with all the great details you went into the history of each Muppet project and the evolution of the Muppets themselves from Kermit being a minor character on a 50s children’s puppet TV show to the Muppets becoming cultural icons that we know the finale is going to be everything that you say it is.

This was such a great Lookback. I’m looking forward to see where will be going next after the final part.
