Mod Tools Testing (Patreon)
Content
A beta version of mod tools will be available to interested patrons very soon. If you're interested in trying out the tools, please join the discord and let me know! You can message the #mods channel or send me a DM if you want to be involved in this first test period. Experience with programming in general, or with Twine/Twee in specific is preferred but not required. I plan to make myself available throughout January to help modders get started, so I'm willing to hold your hand if you need it.
I'm mostly looking for people willing to make small test mods; just basic stuff for now to test out the tools, so this shouldn't be a huge time commitment.
Mod tools will come in two flavors: a command-line application that accepts Twee files (or directories to search recursively for Twee files) and compiles them into mod files, and a Twine "story format" (basically a plugin) that compiles mod files right from the Twine 2 app. The command line tool is basically done; I used it to make Convent. The Twine story format is mostly done.
Right now, I'm working on compiling basic documentation. I also plan to make the source code of Convent available as an example. I also want to create some kind of mod forum or database or wiki--some central list that users can submit their mods to, but I'm not sure what form this will take. Suggestions welcome.
