NOTE: It may take some time for the new builds to become available.

The Itch.io app is a little like Steam, it's a little game downloader/updater/launcher that'll manage your Itch.io games for you. It's pretty decent for what it does, but to take full advantage of it, developers have to opt-in to some of the features. Succubus Stories now supports most of these, and in v0.11 will have even better support. If you want to start using the Itch.io app version, just download the Itch.io app and then download the game through it, all of your saves should transfer automatically! If you're already using the app, updating to the latest version (which is still v0.10.1) should be all you have to do.

So what's the benefit here? The main benefits are related to updating the game. Updates should now be smaller and take less bandwidth: the Itch.io app is smart enough to determine which files actually need to be updated and which don't. This applies to me uploading new versions as well, but that's neither here nor there, since I was actually going through dropbox before which was even more convenient for me. The other major benefit is automatic updates, you can check a box (it may default to being checked, I don't know for sure) and the game will be kept up-to-date for you, which is a nice usability feature.

The app can also run the web version inside its own little mini-browser, which can be a useful alternative to using your normal web browser. I've tried it and it seems about the same as just running it from your browser, but the benefit might just be that you don't have to worry about your browsing history or trying to use incognito mode or something. Mod support will still be impossible in this version, however.

Anyway, just a tiny update, nothing too exciting, but if you start using the app, let me know what you think! I think it's pretty neat, and I like having something like Steam for my Itch.io games. I play a lot of games on Itch.io myself, so it's worth it for me. It's a slightly better experience than going through the website, I think.
