Important: There will be no January update. (Patreon)

What does this mean for me?
If you're already a patron on December 31 at 11:59 PM, you'll not be charged for January. If you plan to be a patron in December, you may want to stick around for January since it will be free. If you join for the first time in January, however, you'll be charged as normal.
The only other significant change is that we'll skip one month, obviously, and the next update after the December update will be in February. I will still create Patreon posts in this time, and I plan to have some patron-only posts as well.
Why?
I'll be out of town. I will bring my laptop so I can still try to maybe push hotfixes, but I won't be able to do much hefty work. I will still be working in December when I can, but looking at the calendar, I'm already stressed out about even getting a small release out, and there's things I can work on that won't add content to the game, like mod support, and the time I have in December may be better spent on that sort of thing.
Will you always waive charges on months without an update?
I don't want to commit to that. I can see possibilities where I spend tons of time working on the game, either on QoL or on other features like mod support or mod tools that don't directly result in what I'd consider a major update, but since I'm still working on the game as much an I would on any month, charging makes sense.
That said, if there isn't an update because I've lacked the time to work, as is the case with this announcement, I will waive charges.
I understand that that sort of call on my part takes some level of trust from you all, and I intend to earn and maintain that trust.
I will always be upfront with you about my work and about decisions regarding patronage and charging. I plan releases in advance, so there should never be a surprise where you expect a major update and don't get it. Never say never, of course, I am human and things do happen, but I will always let you know what's happening when I know what's happening.
In the future if I do charge in a month with no update and you feel you shouldn't have to pay, I encourage you to do what you think is best. I certainly won't hold it against you.
Will the February update be super big, then?
Probably not. It may end up being larger than normal, it may not. It certainly shouldn't be any smaller than normal.
I really am just at a deficit for time, here, so don't expect a double update in February or anything. That said, I am in talks with some writers to help make content, so that may help increase the size of the update.
I'm sorry I will be missing an update so soon after launching this project, and thank you for your understanding.
