Update Preview for v0.3.0 (Patreon)

The next major update to Succubus Stories--v0.3.0--will be released for patrons on October 6, likely in the early morning that day. It will come to the free edition on October 13. Here's some details on what you can expect in the update. 

The Maid Academy 

A new sub-location in uptown, you'll unlock this area by continuing the storyline. You'll need to complete the training and graduate in order to continue with the story. The training consists of a few courses, you can either complete these fair and square, or try to find some more "creative" paths to graduation. How you approach this training will impact your skill as a maid. 

Once you complete your training, you can work as a maid. Each work event comes with a range of scenes and options, and the pay varies based on your skill as a maid and your decisions on each job. 

Expeditions 

At the maid academy you can also hire your own servants--sort of. You can assemble a party of adventurers made up of travelers, bandits, and witches to go on expeditions to collect ingredients for you. Expeditions cost money based on the size and skill of the party sent, and take one week to complete. After the expedition returns, you can collect the spoils, make changes, and send it out again! 

Party members gain experience and level up, allowing them to gather more and better ingredients, but also increasing their cost. As you level up party members, the player character's leadership will also improve, allowing her to put together larger and larger parties. 

For now, progression in this system is fairly slow, as it's meant to be something that you're doing throughout your playtime in the game, over several hours at least. It's not intended to be grinded out or anything. There is nothing you can get from expeditions you can't get in the game elsewhere, the point of expeditions is to help players shore up their ingredients and resources passively, while giving them a gold sink, and to do those things with a bit more flair than say a shop would. 

Right now, individual party members all have the same stats. I may change this in the future. 

Lactation Content 

Earlier this month, patrons were invited to vote on whether they wanted to see lactation or group sex content in this version. Lactation content won our narrowly. Group sex content will come in a later update, maybe next update, not sure yet. 

The lactation content includes a new potion that induces lactation. This potion can be used to toggle lactation on the player character or to induce lactation in other women (usually via potion magic; if you haven't unlocked potion magic, stop by uptown at night and complete Priscilla's request). The player character can feed off of lactating women, but this is much less effective than normal feeding. 

For the player, lactation works like urination, in that it slowly builds over time, and cannot be done at will. Lactation-related events have been added to various locations. New options and interactions have also been added to old events that can be triggered by the player's lactation status. 

Finally, breast milk has been added to the game as an ingredient. Breast milk may be bought at the market for players who would rather avoid any lactation content. Several of the new potions in this update require breast milk. On expeditions, witches of a certain level have a chance to collect breast milk. 

Story and Side Content 

The second part of chapter 1 is complete and playable here. The next update should finish chapter 1 out. The story content presented here is much longer than the last update, and involves several obstacles to overcome. I hope you find the story content interesting. 

A few new requests have been added, along with new special traits to unlock, among other rewards. Some of these requests may require certain other story and side content to be completed first, so you may not have access to them right off the bat. 

Some other unique side content has also been added. 

New Activities and Events 

In addition to the training and work at the maid academy, players may also now work at the tavern as a barmaid with Roland. This activity is available from the start of the game and provides players with a (mostly) non-lewd way to earn money in the prologue and early game. 

Players can also activate some new options when setting up shop in the market. Specifically, players can set up shop nude to increase general sale chance, and players can offer "favors" to paying customers to improve prices and critical sale chance. These extra options dramatically increase notoriety and even carry a chance of getting busted by guards in the act, so be careful! 

In addition to the new lactation events, some other new events have been added across many locations. 

New Progression 

New lesbian progression has been added, with two new perks for lesbian/bisexual content.

Six new potions have been added, though two are just updated versions of older potions. The big additions here are the aforementioned lactical and the sleeping potion, which can be used to knock characters out (and even rob them, in some cases). 

No new normal traits have been added in this version, but next version should see some. I have ideas for them but they aren't priorities for this update. Four new special traits can be earned from the requests in this update, however.
