Here's some research for some of the plants that will appear in Beetle and the Hollowbones! I don't want to forget what I'm seeing around me right now, all the different plants that make the fall feel like fall. After the very wet summer we had, a lot of trees are covered in pale green lichen under their red and gold leaves. It's a perfect time to be writing a halloween book.

As many of you have probably noticed, Demon Street is plodding along a little bit while I'm working on thumbnails for Beetle, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to go. I think I want to do a much more detailed breakdown of DS's ending. I've been sort of hoping to do a bunch of the final updates in one huge chapter all at once, but I'm not sure that's really realistic without taking a big long hiatus right before the climax and leaving everyone wondering what's going on and forgetting what happened. So that's my current dilemma! Of course you'll be the first to know if I decide to do a batch update, unlikely as that is.

As for Beetle and the Hollowbones, not only do I have the entire book written, I'm also about halfway done thumbnailing. Working on Beetle makes me blissfully happy, I hope it carries on being this fun through the rest of the steps!

Also, if you remember the first chapter of that vampire visual novel I posted, i have a ton more ideas for that, which I'll get to as soon as I possibly can!

I hope you have a great halloween!! I lost the pumpkin head for my old homemade folksy jack o lantern costume so I might need to make another one, but I think it deserves an encore, honestly. Last time I wore it the trick or treaters thought I was a big cloth doll, and that was VERY fun.
