Hey Everybody!

I've been working hard on getting together a playable build out for patrons as soon as possible, which is very close now. Here are some screenshots, and a bit of info about the new and improved Dungeons of Desire!

Unlike the original DoD, players will be able to explore fully randomized dungeons and make choices regarding what sort of encounters they would like to experience. This will allow an extra layer of strategy and freedom to the game that will encourage more dynamic risk vs. reward based gameplay, while maintaining the minimalism of DoD.

The combat system has been refined, but keeps the two-button timing based mechanics of the original game, with a bit of added depth. Cooldowns have been replaced by a stamina system, which means that blocking can be held for a longer duration, and attacks can be used as frequently as you please. Additionally, attacks can be held to trigger a more powerful blow, and if timed just right, a perfect attack, which is faster and even stronger. A common criticism of the original DoD, was that it was difficult to time blocks while learning attack patterns. This change will make learning how to fight monsters less punishing, and reward players with more experience.

These screenshots demonstrate an early build of what you can expect from the new DoD, and are subject to be changed/improved as development goes on. The dungeons will be populated by decorations and props, as well as a vast pool of random events and monsters, all of which are animated lovingly frame-by-frame.
