Weekly Progress Report and Community Recolor 1, shorts color variant poll (6-17-2024) (Patreon)

Hey everyone, sorry for the radio silence last week. Anxiety has really been kicking my ass, and once again, I got very little done. My appointment was on Friday, and the anxiety finally faded after that was over; I had plans on Saturday so I wasn't able to work then, but come Sunday I was finally feeling good enough to get stuff done, and I did take decent advantage of that, writing another brand new cutscene in full and doing some edits as well. I'm hopeful that I can follow up on that burst of productivity and get back into a groove for this next week, so finger's crossed for that.

Things were finally starting to improve until I started having appointments again; I don't know exactly what to do about that, but you can be sure I'll be talking to my therapist about it. It's becoming increasingly clear that appointment anxiety (or "anticipatory anxiety", as my medicine doctor called it) is one of my biggest mental health struggles in general; it even happens for fun events that I'm actively looking forward to, like seeing a friend I haven't seen in a long time, or going to a live show. It's unbelievably frustrating having my productivity held hostage like that, and it often makes me want to avoid having appointments as much as possible, but I know the solution to getting over anxiety DEFINITELY isn't to avoid the problem altogether, so I'm just hoping that I can adjust to it quickly enough to not completely throw off the flow I was finally starting to find.

In any case, here's the daily updates for this week:

Orex is working on some cutscene animations that are needed for the story rewrite, and that's where my focus is too. I thought I had written every brand new cutscene needed for the story rewrite, but I had forgotten about one; technically it's a rewrite (of the Boss 3 intro cutscene), but it's such a thorough rewrite that not a single line was carried over, so it's basically a brand new cutscene.

The post-Boss 3 cutscene is going to be pretty heavily rewritten as well, but at least some of that will still carry over, so I think I really am done with the brand new cutscenes now; the rest will just be rewrites, which don't take nearly as long, so I intend to have the script rewrites finished by the next weekly update.

With all that out of the way, time to talk about the recolor poll! Since I screwed up the schedule by not posting mid-week, we're going to speed up the process here and fit in 3 polls this week: one today, one on Wednesday, and one on Friday, then back to the regular schedule starting on Sunday/Monday next week.

Today, we're voting on short color variants! First up is Recolor 1, Legally Distinct Demon Slayer™ with black and white shorts:

Next, Recolor 2, with (surprise surprise) blue and purple!

And lastly, big tiddy goth GF Alicia, AKA Recolor 3, also with black and white shorts:

This is probably the most involved part of the recolor yet, with the shorts, belt, and belt buckle included. I.. also just realized while looking at this that I completely forgot to color in Alicia's modstrap when we did her hair. Oops. It's such a small detail that I don't think it's worth doing a poll over, so I'll just come up with some colors before the next poll that suit the themes you guys are going for here. If I get it wrong, feel free to yell at me in the comments of the next poll and we can consider revisiting it :p

Sorry again for the two weeks of minimal progress; appointments or no, I'm going to make a serious effort to stay on an earlier schedule, take my ADHD medication every workday, do at least one thing for the game every day, and generally avoid sticking my head into the sand.
