Version 1.1.1 has been released for Android (link below)! This should fix email link sign-in.

----

If you've been downloading apps through my Patreon, you probably know it's not ideal. There's not a great way to quickly find the one you're looking for, and when you do get it, Patreon changes the extension to .zip.

This new app is meant to solve the issues with Patreon and downloading APKs. Instead of making you all download the app through the attachment on the changelog post, change the extension, and then remove the file, my plan is to announce new updates here on Patreon and link you to this new app.

Paid Apps, as it's so creatively named, is an app itself that will let you browse and download or install all the paid apps I would normally attach to Patreon posts. Install it, sign in with the same email you use here, and you should see a list of app names you can tap on to view available APKs.

It's important to note that this isn't a replacement for Patreon. If you want access to all the apps, you still need to have an active subscription here. Paid Apps checks your subscription status before giving you access to posts.

You also might see an "Unauthorized" message the first time you sign in. If you do, wait a few minutes and refresh or reopen the app. Firebase needs some time to check your status and assign you the proper role.

I'm also not a backend developer, so I may have gotten things wrong with access rules. If it's been over an hour and you still don't have access after signing in, make sure you used the right email. Otherwise, send me a message.

In terms of privacy, Paid Apps makes use of Firebase and Google Cloud to handle storage, authentication, status updates, and crash reports. As much as I'd like to make sign-in anonymous, you'll need to use the email you use on Patreon so that your subscription status can be verified. I don't have any sort of analytics enabled beyond crash logs, and you have the choice to use Google Sign-In or have a sign-in link sent directly to your email address.

You can download the APK here: https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/paid-apps-6cd33.appspot.com/o/Apps%2FPaidApps%2FPA-1.1.1.apk?alt=media&token=0169d658-e09a-4700-964c-ea6980823a2f

There's also a web app available! Head over to https://paidapps.zwander.dev and log in with your Google account or email address to access the app downloads from your browser.

Hmm. Having issues with signing in with email address in both app and webapp. App, haven't received a email with login details. Webapp, when I try to login by yapping the "Email" button, the input box opens but for some reason in Chrome on Android it won't trigger a keyboard or allow me to even tap/hold to paste content into the box.

Hmm. Got an email, link opens, then spinning circle in middle of screen that is running from within Google Play Services. Web app/form, still no luck with being able to enter my email address even. Noteworthy. Email address (login) for Patreon account is not the email address I use for Google Play.

So sign in with Google works, but there is no content available.

See if 1.1.1 works. There seems to be a bug in Android 13 that broke the normal email link sign in flow.

"See if 1.1.1 works. There seems to be a bug in Android 13 that broke the normal email link sign in flow." There we go. 1.1.1 of "Paid Apps" did it. And yes, Android 13.
