Hello Patrons!

In the first Patron Update from the new studio I give the latest on our massive Crystal Dynamics project, Black & White, the podcast, give out some keys to our game Stunt Derby, how the studio has been going and much more.

This one ended up being a bit long so the chapters are on the video and listed below.

0:00 - Intro
0:48 - Crystal Dynamics
3:22 - [clip] Gex
5:03 - Black & White
7:32 - [clip] Black & White
8:19 - Podcast is now Video
12:00 - Stunt Derby (get your key!)
13:53 - New Project Focus
15:18 - Hyper Light Breaker
19:15 - The Studio / Housekeeping

We're the final stages of a bunch of these docs so expect early access and production meetings soon.

It feels like it's all coming together folks, thanks for sticking with us.

Excited about the podcast developments! With the developer interviews, maybe some cross promotion from the documentary channel makes sense? The GTA radio stations episode was a perfect tie-in to the DMA Design documentary, but I only became aware of it months after the doc. Even if there are no directly related episodes, a mention like "find more stories on indie game development on our podcast" could entice people to check out what's on offer. And would it be feasible to throw the odd image up on screen during the podcast to illustrate what you're talking about at times (I'm thinking screenshots, box art etc.)? While listening to another retro games (audio-only) podcast I find myself frequently pausing to google when graphics, marketing materials or other visual aspects are being discussed.

Always a delight to see updates like these and the studio is coming along swimmingly! Sad to see Crew eventually make the permanent shift to Youtube, but it makes sense. I would love to see small docs about the less glamorous side of game dev like PR, marketing, communications, the types of positions that are vital but weirdly brushed off. What is it like being HR for a studio or QA learning of a weird and very specific bug. I'm not sure how interested others would be in those conversations, but they would be unique and fun to tell regardless.
