15K REACHED! (Patreon)

Less than 24 hours (in fact about 1 minute before we hit it) after launching this Patreon, we hit the last goal I had for it. A pipe dream! Something I had put on with wishful thinking. A target to aim for over the next few weeks and months. Wow.

Thank you all so much for trusting me and believing in this project. With this much funding it's going to be possible to buy international tickets and hotels abroad to tell stories that happen around the world. It also allows us a greater budget when tackling stories domestically - something we'll be focusing on for the first couple of projects.

People keep telling me to calm down. That all this funding doesn't mean more work. Just better work. Better docs for you folks. I'm trying to remember that but as somebody who was plugged into the content churn for 5 years - producing multiple video productions a week - it's hard. Part of me wants to hop on a plane tomorrow and shoot some stuff. But there's a lot of important work to be done first. I hope you'll allow me to take my time and do this properly. 

But that's not to say there isn't stuff in the pipeline for this week. I'll have details on our patron-only stream I'm organizing for tomorrow. I'll be putting up a post asking for questions for our first Q&A video. And we're recording the first episode of my op-ed show on Friday - which by the way I need help naming. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Loads coming down the pipeline but still lots of work to do to get the docs up and running. Thank you all so much for your support. It's tempting to try and use all this additional funding to turn the project into something it's not. To spend it all on expanding. My aim right now is to grow at a pace I can maintain, and focus on getting the first few docs out before looking at new horizons. I hope you folks trust me in that respect. It's a lot of responsibility, and I take it very seriously.

Now. Let's make some docs!
