Hello Patrons and welcome to our first patron-exclusive Bonus Scenes video.

Our $10 Patrons are going to be getting these year-round and we finally find a place for the sections of our docs that don't make the final cut. These are edited, curated videos with scenes that dive a little deeper into the game. Parts of our interviews that we enjoyed, but just didn't work in the overall arc of the core documentary.

Below is a list of the topics covered with timecodes in case you want to skim;

0:10 - The Ship, Original Concept & HUD Design
3:43 -
Around the Studio: The Design of the Quantum Forest
6:15 -
Designing the Scout Launcher
8:20 -
The Problem with Walking on Planets
10:09 -
Around the Studio: Nomai Easter Egg
10:55 -
Around the Studio:  Old Gravity Well Concept
11:35 -
Lighting Planets
13:02 -
Optimizing for Consoles
14:23 -
End Game Discussions & The "Message" of Outer Wilds

This is our first time using our custom vimeo-powered player so please let us know if you have any feedback on the viewing experience. We're still tinkering with it all.

Thanks so much and enjoy the video!

This video does not exist? I joined the membership just for this video, but now I can't watch it. Is it my problem or the video is really lost.

Goddesen

I would also very much like for this video to reappear!

Thanks for the heads up and sorry I only just saw it. Video has been reuploaded. Not sure what happened, some error on Twitter's end

Thanks Danny, Do you know if vimeo does casting like YouTube? My favorite part about the patreon YouTube links was casting to my xbox and watching on the tv. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to 2020!

Hmmm, I know there is an Xbox Vimeo app but I've no idea if how we embed them here will allow folks to cast them straight to your console. If you give it a go it would be great to hear if that's the case.

For any interested, you can still cast via Chromecast even though the vimeo player doesn't have the feature built-in. You just need to view via Google Chrome, and your browser has a built-in method to cast the tab from the "..." menu in the top-right.

I loved this game, immediately watched your documentary after finishing. Great work!

You can’t cast it from mobile however. I personally would also prefer if these were posted on YouTube via a private link.

I waited to watch the documentary and the extended scenes until today. I finished the game last night and this was one of the best experiences in my life. I’ve been long time fan of the space exploration, astrophysics and the studies of the universe. This game came the closest to that sense of belonging and being infinitely irrelevant in the grand scheme of our world.

Hella

One thing I was really struck by with this game was the lack of conflict. Everywhere you go, everyone you meet is always happy to see you and excited for you to learn more. Even the world around you, which does kill you pretty often, isn't the "enemy," it's just the world you're a part of. It's not malevolent, it's just powerful and requires respect.

Ergzay

It's really unfortunate that you cut the final line from this extended scenes from the original cut. I think the end of this extended scenes is a much better way to end the main documentary.
