Hey Patrons,

As you know 2019 has been an important transitional year for us. We produced a shedload of docs during the first half of the year, and spent a large amount of the second half planning and executing our transition to the studio. December is going to be our busiest month for docs all year, but in January we're going to be re-relaunching our Patreon, giving a fresh vision for Noclip and showing off the fruits of our brand new studio. Thank you for trusting me during this period, it's meant a lot.

If you're a long time patron you know that once a year I put out a call to the community for guidance on what we should be doing. It helps me ensure that Noclip stays connected to the wishes of all the folks who keep the lights on. Often it also results in a few community requested docs. So this year I'd really appreciate if you could take a moment to leave a comment below, and answer these 4 questions:

  • How satisfied are you as a Patron?
  • What type of content would you like us to focus on?
(examples;  long docs / podcast / streams / interview shorts)
  • What Patron Exclusives would you like to see?
(examples; behind the scenes / bonus podcast / merchandise)
  • What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020?

We're going to be coming straight out the gates in 2020 with big projects, fun collaborations and loads of interesting new types of video. But your feedback is absolutely priceless in terms of trying to plan and execute all that stuff. So please, be honest, be passionate and let us know what you think.

Thanks so much. We deeply appreciate your support of our work.

Danny
PS: Yes that's Edmund McMillen. Fun videos coming soon ;)

How satisfied are you as a Patron? Good. I felt there's been a bit of a gap though when you moved house, and personally wasn't that interested in what the studio looks like or where you actually are! Just want to see game docs and bonus clip! What type of content would you like us to focus on? I signed up because I was a fan of 'The Point' and that's the kind of content that interests me, so I love bonus level - pity there haven't been more. I do love the long docs, podcasts and interview shorts. Not a fan of streams. What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? Extended editions of certain docs (such as behind the scenes footage). I'd also like the 'early access' tier to actually be early access, as in , a few weeks before everyone else, as opposed to it just being a few days (by the time I get around to the docs, it's usually in general release, so kind of makes my tier (10 $) redundant. What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? I'd like to see a documentary on 'Limit theory' by Josh Parnell, who never finished the game on kickstarter due to mental health issues and was a lone dev! I found the doc on Telltale games so touching since it showed what happened for a game to fail. We always hear about games that make it and why, but it's just as interesting finding out why a particular studio/game didn't make it.

Edit: Holy shit the patron edit box is rubbish! * How satisfied are you as a Patron? Very * What type of content would you like us to focus on? Long 'deep' docs (or series of shorter docs all covering different aspects of some whole) over covering more ground with shorter docs. (tho I realise this concentrates risk if the 'whole' does not grab people) * What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? Behind the scenes things, and things that happen alongside the big stuff that does not take too much time so does not take resource from the main feature (also these don't need to be so highly produced) * What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? I would love to see something about mod scenes, especially classic Quake mods (Who even is threewave?)

Eddie

I'd love to see more coverage of QA in games and AAA. Working in the industry as QA is quite different to what people think based on my experience.

1) very satisfied.

Anonymous

I'd like some FromSoftware coverage. I know that they are not willing to do it, but it'd be nice if they did. Also, I just want more documentaries on Japanese studios.

Anonymous

2)Long Docs 3) Director’s cuts or extra content not available to the general public. 4) From Software

• Still very satisfied. • Long docs and shorts are king, but the podcast is also great. • Early access continues to be the best incentive. • In terms of game studios, I maintain there's an interesting story to be told with the game Gigantic. I'd also love to see some stuff about motion capture, and some content with the newly minted MinnMax would also be awesome, though I'm not sure what that would look like.

How satisfied are you as a Patron? Super! Love the transparency as well. Can't wait for the affects of the move slow down and you guys get to the full grind (but like also take care of your self) What type of content would you like us to focus on? I personally like the docs and short interviews the best. The streams arent for me, but I respect their value. The podcast I almost wish wasn't weekly. I like the podcasts, but I think a less non traditional cycle could help with catch-up syndrome, and make each episode more valuable, but that's just IMHO What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? More behind the scenes stuff, or even something like a post-mortem after bigger docs (what you learned, what was challenging, how you tackled those issues) What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? A behind the scenes/ what's going on with Star Citizens lol. Or more realistically, an interview on the process behind the massive EA Sports team (How they got to their dominance, how the other studios like NHL try to live up to the success of Madden, how they lost the NBA battle).

Anonymous

1: Completely 2: Short & Long video documentaries and interviews 3:- 4: You're already doing Outer Wilds, which is great. More developers outside of the NA/EU zones, although it's understandable those might be more expensive to reach. Also Yacht Club games about the entire Shovel Knight run that just finished

Anonymous

1. Very satisfied 2. Long form (multi-part docs on one game/series are my favorites) 3. Behind the scenes / would love to see the preparation process for a big doc also) 4. History of Monolith/Obsidian/Interplay/Volition

• How satisfied are you as a Patron? Very :) • What type of content would you like us to focus on? I enjoy the long docs the best. • What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? The behind the scene contents are great • What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? Beyond good and evil 1? Or something with ubisoft anyway :) Also, consider using a proper form or something for these. The comment thingy on patreon doesn't allow for any text editing so it's hard to make it readable for you guys :p

How satisfied are you as a Patron? Very What type of content would you like us to focus on? Keep the long docs and interviews coming. They're the reason I backed Noclip in the first place because I felt nowhere was really trying to do that properly and I think you've consistently delivered on that. I'm personally less interested in streams, podcasts, etc because there's tons of that stuff all over the web from umpteen different outlets. Basically, I feel like everyone's doing that, but no one is doing awesome long form docs on the ESRB, or the Hitman deep dive, or any other of the awesome docs the way Noclip has done. What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? Any behind the scenes/making of stuff to do with the docs and the interviews. Again, personally, the docs are why I'm here and what I think you do best. What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? I'd love a look at Petroglyph Games, if only in the hopes we get loads of lovely stories about what it was like working at Westwood Studios back in the day. The RTS genre is in a bit of weird place I think and Petroglyph are one of the studios that have consistently been plugging away making those kinds of games, even if the market sometimes doesn't seem to have room for anything other than Starcraft.

* How satisfied are you as a Patron? Very * What type of content would you like us to focus on? Long docs, especially ones about high-profile failures (like Jason Schreier's articles, but more on a human level, because you can get access to individuals) * What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? Not much. I subscribe because I want these docs to get made, not because I want behind-the-scenes exclusives. * What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? Anthem / Bioware, Halo / 343

Thom Blackburn

1 kinda 2 less prerelease 3 im okay without any exclusives, just happy to help 4 kojima would be awesome

Bester

#1 I only signed up about an hour ago so this is the perfect start. #2 Have to mention 'The Point' that was great. I still share "Hardcore Gamer's Slot Machine" to family with young children so they are more aware about the games they let their kids play. Entertaining, behind the scenes (for better or worse) and useful. #3 No idea, so hard to give exclusives online. Maybe bloopers and stray thought editions, stuff that is good but doesn't make the cut. #4 You've done my favourites already like Half-Life, Doom and Quake so something like Team17 (Worms), Oddworld Inhabitants (Abe's Oddysee) or Bioshock would be amazing!

Anonymous

> What type of content would you like us to focus on? Just full docs and shorts maybe. Less of podcasts and streams (respect of time). > What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? Just focus on primary activity. Maybe announcements and extra materials that by some reason not in full-length doc. > What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? Rockstar or Kojima :)

Jeremy Tierney

1. Quite. 2. The long ones are the best imo, the halflife one was my favorite. 3. I dont really mind what happens here, just whatever you wanna do sounds good to me. 4. I think it would be super cool if you made something about the development of halo/about bungie in general. I it would also be neat to see something about sakurai, I think that the story behind the development of the first 2 smash games, and how the competitive scene developed as a result is really interesting. Keep up the good work!

Steven Simmons

I love all of the content. The one studio, right now, that I'd love to see you cover is Remedy Games.

Gabriel Costa (Hired Sword)

I think Capcom has really been killing it the past two years or so, might be interesting if you could get a doc related to them and all the changes that the company has made to work towards better quality games etc. As someone who plays Smash Ultimate pretty much daily I'd also love to see something about that game but I know Nintendo is probably hard to reach. It could also be about the community itself, I know there's an old indie doc about Smash but it was focused on Melee so a current one about Ultimate could be really interesting.

Andrew Rachuig

• How satisfied are you as a Patron? Relatively satisfied, I feel like the type of content that really grabbed me (eg. The Doom doc or the Horizon Zero Dawn doc) has tapered off, though I understand this probably has to do with some of the transitions over the past year you’ve been through. I don’t feel like I contribute enough per month to really complain though =) • What type of content would you like us to focus on? Longer form, more in depth documentaries; I don’t care in the slightest about streams, podcasts or other “community” type stuff. • What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? I don’t care about exclusives, I support you guys because I value the work I’ve seen you put out in the past and want to see more of that. • What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? I would love to see something with Cyberpunk 2077 even though you already did a deep dive on CD Project (which was superb!); A deep look at the state of EA (what’s gone wrong); Anything with SONY as regards to their first party games they develop and/or new console stuff as it’s being brought to light later this year

Ryan Peterson

1. Pretty satisfied 2. Long docs are the best, but I'm down for more podcast content as well. 3. More podcasts and bonus content 4. I would love to see a doc going over the entire history of Ninja Theory

Quinn_Town

* How satisfied are you as a Patron? 10/10, stunning work. Best patreon/crowdfunding/anything I've ever been a part of. * What type of content would you like us to focus on? My biggest love will always be the long docs, but I love the personal content you've been ramping up lately. The podcast is fantastic especially. * What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? No strong opinion on this one. Behind the scenes stuff is always very welcome, but I don't care if that's exclusive or not. * What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? 1. The team working on Command and Conquer Remastered (mainly Petroglyph, ex-Westwood) - What's the process like? What was it like to re-record some original voice acting? What does the future of a brand like Command and Conquer look like in 2019? 2. Harebrained Schemes (Battletech, the recent Shadowrun CRPGs) - How do you resurrect a tabletop game infamous for being a money sink into a smooth, modern strategy game? How does your studio handle diverse staffing, a quality they pride themselves on? How do you expand a world full of 100-ton death machines and maintain a semblance of balance? 3. Piranha Games (Mechwarrior: Online, Mechwarrior V: Mercenaries) - How did you go from working on a Half Life mod to porting Duke Nukem Forever to making as successful a game as Mechwarrior Online and now fully owning the Mechwarrior video game rights? How do you plan to take an old-but-gold franchise into a modern future?

Ronin Storm

How satisfied are you as a Patron? Overall, satisfied, but I've certainly felt the lack of long-form content in the back half of this year. What type of content would you like us to focus on? Long docs, primarily, but also the interviews. For me, that is Noclip. Doom, for example, had both. That felt pretty great. That's not to say that I don't appreciate Danny's own channel for interesting diversions (e.g. the race rig build) or game commentary (e.g. Death Stranding). It's just that I've not found my way to the podcasts and I rarely watch streams, live or on-demand. Long docs is what I miss most. What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? Do we need exclusives? I don't feel like I do. Admittedly I'm a lower tier backer ($3) but the main thing I want I feel like I get (excepting the back half of 2019), which is great docs on video games and gaming. Isn't knowing that backing helps bring that to be, where it probably wouldn't happen otherwise, sufficient? It is for me. What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? Destiny / Bungie could be great, though I imagine the split from Activision might make that tricky for Bungie to talk about. Persona / Atlus also have a special place for me, though I imagine that Japanese language might complicate things. Hades / Supergiant was an interesting docu-series that didn't feel like it had run its course. Any chance of that returning?

wavedash

The long documentaries are definitely my favorite things that Noclip does, but the short interviews are also really good. I also like how compact and info-dense they are, and I'm sure they take way less time to produce. It also seems like they're a "better" way to cover newer games, which I think is valuable. I'd like to see Noclip do a documentary on Path of Exile and Grinding Gear Games, especially with their PoE 2 launch. It's really ambitious to directly and explicitly compete with an upcoming game as high-profile as Diablo 4.

Daniel Renshaw

How satisfied are you as a Patron? Reasonably. Have missed the bigger docs in recent months but I understand the move has needed a lot of time and energy. What type of content would you like us to focus on? I watch (nearly) every video and ocassionally listen to the podcast videos but really I'm only interested in the long docs. Would be happy to have much less of everything else if that means long docs are even just a little more frequent. What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? I'm really not bothered by this. Happy to support the work you do even if nothing is exclusive, especially if doing less patron exclusive stuff allows for long docs to be a bit more frequent. Having said that, I do like the behind the scenes videos. What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? Anything with roots outside the US, preferably in Europe. How about Autonauts? Maybe a doc on how technology is changing the way games are being made and how that affects the people making those games (e.g. automation reducing the role of artists in big game developments).

- How satisfied are you as a Patron? Somewhat satisfied. I'm a bit disappointed there hasn't been many long docs on games. Only Astroneer and Hitman scratched that itch for me this year. The Telltale, E3 and ESRB docs where of course good and interesting, but they don't interest me as much. I used to be on the $30 tier, but I've since dropped it down, because I feel that with $250k a year, we should be able to expect more output then what we've seen. - What type of content would you like us to focus on? Long docs. - What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? The early access tier should get earlier access (at least 3 days). I'm pretty sure it was often just a day before public release, which never felt worth it to me. Idk if this has changes since I dropped my pledge. - What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? Command & Conquer, Remedy Games, Respawn Entertainment. Would also be cool to see something related to the new console launches.

Brandon K Gann

Hey Danny! Per your request, my answers to your questions are as follows: 1.) I am VERY satisfied in being a Patron. As I've said every time you've called for questions: This work is very valuable in so many ways, and being able to contribute, however small, is enough for me, regardless of output. 2.) Content I like focus on: Something you've already promised, so I don't think of this as something *I* want, as you're already doing it: A return to long form docs on major games. I like the mix of subjects NoClip has tackled, and the big stuff is my favorite. So the best answer for this question I guess is to keep up the great work! 3.) For Bonus Patreon content, as I'm sure you're well aware, I'm partial to the Patron Show, but things like Behind-the-Scenes content add even more to the finished product. Can't get enough of it. ^.^ 4.) I think I've said this before, but a nice blend of new studios and check-ins would be really cool. Moon Studios, who develops the Ori franchise. Checking in with id on DOOM: Eternal and CD Projekt Red on CyberPunk (Post launch of course), how publishers put together presentations (How Nintendo creates Directs, or how Microsoft creates their Inside Xbox/E3 conference. Pie in the sky and extremely unlikely, I know). And of course any and all coverage of Final Fantasy VII: Remake's development would be FASCINATING. Just some thoughts (fully aware none of them are likely, but still, gotta shoot my shot), and again, thanks a ton for giving the opportunity for feedback. VERY excited for 2020 for NoClip!!!

Matthew Glenn

How satisfied are you as a Patron? Generally pretty satisfied. I would like to see more Hades stuff and stuff like the bonus level earlier this year about Sekiro. I think my favorite thing from this year was the Astroneer doc. More content like that would move me from pretty satisfied to very satisfied. What type of content would you like us to focus on?
(examples;  long docs / podcast / streams / interview shorts) Long Docs What Patron Exclusives would you like to see?
(examples; behind the scenes / bonus podcast / merchandise) Bonus Podcast. I’ve enjoyed the community Q/A part of the podcast recently, but it would be great if after you’ve finished a doc, you called the studio and did a follow up podcast with community questions raised after the doc completed. What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? - From Software - GameFreak - Devolver Digital - Respawn - Intelligent Systems (Fire Emblem, Advance Wars)

Landon Robinson

How satisfied are you as a Patron? I'm generally very satisfied. Anytime NoClip uploads something, I'm always making a note to watch it as soon as I get the opportunity. The documentaries are second-to-none, and the behind-the-scenes content + bonuses seem worth it. Keep it up! What type of content would you like us to focus on? I love NoClip focusing on long docs and feature-length, fully edited work. However, I'm enjoying the additional perk of a weekly podcast. My vote is definitely the full-feature docs. What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? I'm really looking forward to more studio content, and behind the scenes. Anything that takes us behind the curtain on the work you done is fascinating and I personally love to watch and re-watch. I love video essays like Bonus Level, Danny's Disk Club, and The Point as well. Won't say no to a cool hoodie or Danny/Jeremy themed merch! What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? - Ken Levine's new team at Ghost Story Games - Masahiro Sakurai (Melee, Smash Ultimate) - Machine Games (Wolfenstein, how they came to start working on that series again, the origins in Starbreeze, etc) - Profile on John Carmack would be phenomenal (talk about early days, his infamous quakecon keynotes, and new work on AI and how it differs from game AI) - Peter Molyneux and whatever the heck he's still up to (is 22 cans still a thing?) - Tommy Refenes/Super Meat Boy forever

I love everything behind the scenes or making of’s -> What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? - Ori and the Will of the Wisps / Moon Studios (I’m dying to see/hear more from these devs and their games) - Subnautica: Below Zero / Unknown Worlds Entertainment (would love to see a deep dive on how they came up with Subnautica, their approach and how they build Below Zero) - Path of Exile / Grinding Gear Games (it would be super interesting to see how these guys come up with all their super creative ideas for Leagues and content in general for this game - Diablo 4 / Blizzard Entertainment (how are they approaching building a game with such high expectations based on Diablo’s legacy) - Cyberpunk 2077 / CD Projekt RED - From Software (I’m dying to know more about how they build Elden Ring, George R.R. Martin’s involvement etc.) - Valve (a documentary about Steam would be fascinating)

Michael

1) How satisfied? Very. Please keep up the great work. 2) Content? Long docs and interviews. Honestly don’t need more streams and podcasts in my life. 3) Exclusives? Don’t really need anything. Would support you if there were none. Maybe behind the scenes? Travelogues? Not anything super in depth or long, but like “Hey we’re in Texas, we ate some BBQ” type stuff? Vlogs about how things are going or initial things that surprised you? 4) Games / studios to cover? Yoko Taro. Persona / P Studio. Yakuza / Judgment.

-Very satisfied - I understand that there might be different circumstances when you can't churn out videos every month, so don't mind the silence that has been obvious on the channel. I know great videos are coming, so don't mind waiting; -Long docs are definitely what makes Noclip great and unique, so I would really be very glad to see more of those, even if it means less constant release of new docs; -BTS are always nice to see, especially if it's about trips outside of the studio. On another note, I'm a sucker for physical rewards, so merch would be nice, even if it would mean throwing in more dollars; -I know it's hard to do (and might never happen), but I'd really love to see a KojiPro doc - with Kojima himself being far from attention shy, I think it would be a great thing to watch.

Anonymous

Hi, if you could get INSIDE PLAYDEAD, I would be very satisfied :) I have really enjoyed the Half Life doc. I also like the behind the scenes videos, or the ESRB video.

Anonymous

- I'm reasonably satisfied as a Patron. I think you've made a good effort to cover a mix of titles, but outside of something like FF14, most NoClip docs feel like they're just Danny's favorite games. That's understandable, but I would like to see NoClip dig into more niche games and communities as the tentpole and more mainstream games that get docs (Hitman, Witcher, Bethesda, etc.) often don't personally appeal to me. - Ideally for me, I'd like to see more one-off docs about smaller games, studios or game-adjacent topics (like the ones made for Dream Daddy, the Rediscovering Mystery series, Geoff Keighley and the ESRB). That's probably the most cost-prohibitive type of content for NoClip, so I understand why it doesn't happen as often. But it can be a real bummer to hear a studio I don't care about (like Bethesda) is getting featured and knowing that the next handful of videos aren't going to be my thing. - I'll take what bonuses you can easily get, but I'm just here to fund the well-made docs and don't want to ask for things that would slow down the output of the docs. - Going against what I said above, a studio I'd love to see a multi-part series on would be Obsidian. KOTOR 2, New Vegas, Alpha Protocol, Outer Worlds: there's a lot of varied and interesting games there. Outside of that, small studios like Heart Machine (Hyper Light Drifter), MegaCrit (Slay The Spire), Lab Zero (Indivisible/Skullgirls) and Cardboard Computer (Kentucky Route Zero) would be high on my list. A doc on Devolver Digital would be really cool. Would love to hear how they find and choose games to publish and/or how they put together their E3 shows. And more Japanese content would be my ultimate wishlist item. Intelligent Systems or the Bravely Default team would be rad. Hope I didn't come off as too negative here. I don't expect every doc to be in my wheelhouse. And regardless of my taste in the subject matter, the quality of all the docs has been great. Been a Patron from day one and I have no intention of changing that going forward!

Anonymous

I started watching your awesome docs on YouTube and eventually decided I had to support them. All I really want are more of these high-quality docs. I guess a second thing I like is the making-of/tips videos that you've put together about how you product them.

Anonymous

I've been really happy with your content. I prefer the long form docs but I know those are a lot more work.

Anonymous

Happy with everything, keep it up and keep the podcast. It’s been a great addition, I definitely feel more involved with No-clip with it every week.

1. I am very satisfied as a NoClip patron. 2. I first got into NoClip through the FFXIV and Horizon long docs so I definitley want the team's focus to still be on long docs. That said I also enjoy the shorter stuff like the podcast where I get to hear the sweet, sweet voices of Danny, Jeremy, and friends while I wash my dishes, drive around town, etc! :) Seriously though I think the shorter stuff can be on a more flexible release schedule (like the recent Quake interview that you guys were holding onto for a while). I come to NoClip for the long docs, the rest is fun extras and so I enjoy them regardless of when they get released. 3. So as mentioned above I enjoy the podcast the most. I don't have any patron-exclusive expectations beyond hearing/reading what's on your minds from time to time. And so long as it doesn't affect the production of the main content I'm fine with it as it is. 4. More long docs on Japanese studios would be nice as mentioned in previous comments. I'd love a NoClip take on the history of such storied franchises as Zelda, Final Fantasy, or Kingdom Hearts. I'd also vote for more post-mortem themed docs of failed games/studios like other comments have mentioned. Is Fallout 76 ready for re-examination or does that loaf need another year or two in the oven? Finally maybe a doc looking at the games journalism industry? Be interested in seeing how that particular sausage is made.

1 & 2) Keep up the good work ! 3) A bit of discount on Merch would be cool ! 4) Arkane studio would be cool ! Amplitude studio, Hello Game, Gearbox Software, Kojima Production, and Mobius Digital would also be great :)

Morten Elgaard Pedersen

I think that there have been some good video's and I'm sure the new studio will help production and give you a base of operation. For what video's on studio's/topics it will for me always be whats relevant at a given time, for example unionisation and the video game industry. For game studios personally I would love to see more about Arkane Studios and their approach and struggles with the immersive sim genre (Dishonered 1/2 and Prey). It could also be about Firaxis and the development of XCOM that in my mind have revitalised the turn based strategy genre. There is also Klei, that seem to produce one hit after another that are both different in approach and genre (Don't Starve, Invisible inc, Oxygen not included) without much public knowledge of the company. Hell it could be about why so many indie developers are moving to Canada and the countries legislation to support indie developers and how that is working out. There are lots of topics out there and I'm sure you will come to some you both think personally are interesting and also will be for us the viewers :)

1. Very satisfied 2. Long docs 3. Behind the scenes 4. BioWare

Do NOT make a podcast. I have an insane backlog and will probably quit the format completely for FOMO. Please do a doc on: Kojima, Matt makes games, ironhide game studio, and nintendo!

Clay A Binkley

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't itching for a new meaty doc, but to be honest, the stuff you've already done has been well worth being a Patron from the beginning, and then some. But since you're asking. Long docs, long docs, long docs. I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it. The smaller side stuff just frustrates me because I feel it's just taking resources from the good stuff. Like putting multiplayer in games that don't need them. I, for one, don't need the filler. Don't think you need to pump out content to keep Patrons. This isn't a subscription like Giant Bomb. We're Patrons because we want to support what NoClip can do: make docs that don't make sense for larger companies; not because there's so much content for our buck. Keep up the great work!

* How satisfied are you as a Patron? - Pretty satisfied. The release cycle for long form docs did slow down towards the end of the year but I understand why. * What type of content would you like us to focus on? - Long form docs & podcasts. Came for the long form docs and love how they're evolving as NoClip matures. Enjoying the podcast and keen to see it continue to be released regularly. * What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? - No so big on exclusives myself - I'm just here to back NoClip. Early releases of docs and exclusive podcasts works for me. * What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? - Firaxis or Maxis. Would love to hear from Sid Meyer...Also, would be keen to hear what Jonathan Blow is up to these days

How satisfied are you as a Patron? I'm honestly just mildly satisfied as a patron. I realized now that the long doc was the main reason for why I wanted to support no-clip. So that is what I would like to see more of in the future. Patron exclusives could be early releases of content and maybe Q&A podcasts with the community. What game studio cover?: From Software(Elden Ring would be awesome!), Bioware, Machine Games, Kojima Productions. As a conclusion I'm interested in hearing developers talk about their respective roles in a studio, how they solved different problems etc. Maybe have a theme like "Japanese Art Directors in games" or " AAA developers that moved to Indie studios" Where we get alot of different voices about and dive deeper into the pros and cons of big budget games vs Indie games. Maybe bigger more high concept docs like: How is the industry changing over time? why have several beloved studios become a shadow of their former selves in the eyes of their fans? Thanks for all the great content!

1. I'm satisfied as a Patron! I think you keep a steady pace with the content, and they all stay at a high tier of quality. 2. The Long-Form Docs and Podcasts have been my favorite pieces of content from Noclip lately, so keeping up there would be my preference. 3. In terms of exclusive content, I think that the behind the scenes would be the best bet. I enjoy the thought of merch, but I would rather that be open to all noclip consumers (Maybe a patron discount if available?) 4. I would LOVE to see a doc on Intelligent Systems' work on Fire Emblem from Awakening to Three Houses! The fact they went from being on the brink of shutting down the franchise to releasing the best-selling entry in the franchise (as well as winning Best Strategy Game and Fan Game of the Year at The Game Awards!) shows that it could be a doc along the lines of FF14.

Well I just joined a few months ago as a patreon but I must say I'm pretty satisfied with what you deliver on Patreon. Be it BTS or the extra podcast episode. I personally like long documentations more than the short snippets. I get that they are a lot of work but they are the ones I've enjoyed and watched the most. I also grew very fond of the podcast. If you can keep it on a weekly basis I'm very happy. Regarding Patreon exclusives i'd like to see what you can pull out of your sleeves regarding merch. I really like the simplicity of the logo so i'd like it on pins/stickers and other items. For 2020 all I'd really like to see is RARE ltd. I've been playing their current title Sea of Thieves a lot since launch. The team is very open about their developing process but i'd really like to take an actual look behind the scenes of the studio, especially with them branching to develop their upcoming game this year too! Big thank you from my part. I'm really excited for what's in store for 2020.

How satisfied are you as a Patron? Mostly satisfied. What type of content would you like us to focus on? Long docs. What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? None. But the bonus podcast is fine. What game/studio do you want us to cover in 2020? Age of Empires (Ensemble Studios).

I don´t regret for a second that I supported you. I love the stuff you do, but if I got to chose I´d really want more long docs since that is really the whole reason I started following you in the first place. It´d be super cool to see something about From Software or Naughty Dog. You´re doing awesome work though and I´ll definetly continue to support you in 2020 and in the future!

1) Very satisfied. 2) A good mix of all of them. The podcast makes the content feed more regular and the docs should be as long as fits the story of it. That said, most of YouTube focuses on short videos, so now and then a long doc from you guys switches things up! 3) Behind the scenes 4) Hello Games, CD Projekt RED (after Cyberpunk is out), Might and Delight, Giant Squid, Rocksteady, Ninja Theory, Playdead, Dontnod, Giant Sparrow

1. Very satisfied, especially with the promise of the new docs on the horizon. 2. Long docs are the reason I'm here primarily, but I'm happy with the new podcast content and shorter interviews! 3. Behind the scenes and bloopers! 4. I need the rest of the Supergiant docs, but as for new studios? Annapurna Interactive for sure.

Clay A Binkley

Ah, yes! Hello Games and No Man's Sky with a bullet! Would love to see a deep dive into the story behind that, though I doubt they're able to really say why it came out half-baked.

Magnus Tegnvallius

1. Statisfied and looking forward to 2020 2. Love the variety so do what gives you guys energy becuase I love all your content. 3. Not so hot on exclusives. 4. Hello studios and No Man Sky would be great

Jack Mayo

1. Very satisfied. 2. The long docs are what I subbed for initially, the short interviews and podcast are always welcome! 3. Any more Behind the scenes podcast and bloopers are always appreciated! 4. A deep dive on bioware past and present would be interesting. Plus maybe something on where some of the older bioware veterans ended up doing like stoic (bioware) etc. Maybe something from the guy who did 'to the moon' and 'a birds story' interesting in the link between music and gameplay fits in there. Whatever you do,I'm looking forward to 2020!

1. Honestly, I'm a patron because I love what you're doing and I want to support it, not because I want to get extras. So all good :) 2. Long Docs, definitely. It's why I'm here. Interviews and shorter stuff are nice but I view them more as extras to compliment the main course which are the long docs. 3. Some behind the scenes / outtakes / extra footage would be nice. Oh, maybe some merch too (but get a local shipping partner in Europe so we don't pay expensive shipping or customs :D). 4. Oh man, you ask difficult questions. From Software, Fumito Ueda, Bioware, Yoko Taro, thatgamecompany, Assassin's Creed, Persona. And more Supergiant please.

I'm very happy with what I get a patron. The docs you all make are fantastic and I haven't found anything else like them. I don't watch much of the behind the scenes stuff as I am happy with the money I pay and quality of the docs, even though I could get them for free. Podcasts are ace, so more of those would be cool and could be a good way to promote the docs and generally get the No Clip name out there. That's three answers in one. How efficient haha

Oh I missed the last one. I fell in love with Sayonara Wild Hearts (and Outer Wilds but you're already ahead of the game there) so would adore a doc on that game and the studio. I'm going to go back through their back catalogue and they seem to be quite a varied studio, so hopefully they could make interesting subjects for a doc.

How satisfied are you as a Patron? - Incredibly. Good work, good people - happy to support. What type of content would you like us to focus on? - I really loved the FGC documentary you did on Teamsp00ky ... wonderful piece about a niche topic few people have seen. I'm a long time member of the FGC but I thought it'd be neat to have seen that knowing nothing about them. More discovery pieces for niche stuff might be neat. Honestly love everything you all do however. What Patron Exclusives would you like to see? - I dig the podcasts, was glad to see more of those might be coming. Honestly though just happy to support - don't need exclusives. What game / studio do you want us to cover in 2020? - With Codemasters swallowing up project cars developer 'Slightly Mad Studios' would love to see some Sim Racing embed happen!

1. I'm really satisfied, both by the finished docs and the way you handle Noclip and its community, always being open about the things you were up to and asking for (and listening to) feedback. 2. I'd like to see a focus on the longer docs, but diversity both in the formats and the topics should be important as well. The docs should have different topics (development of upcoming games, postmortems on past games, history of game studios or individual developers, cultural phenomenons, etc.) and the formats can differ (shorter or longer one-offs, multi-part docs with shorter/longer episodes, depending on what fits best). 3. Some behind the scenes stuff and the regular patron show to discuss upcoming stuff are more than enough for me. I personally don't need any exclusive stuff just for the sake of it being exclusive to warrant my patreon pledge. I think you shouldn't waste too much time producing exclusive extra content if it takes time away from other productions - unless you have fun making it and want to make it. 4. Hmm, a historic look at LucasFilm Games/LucasArts might be interesting (the formation and start, the early adventure game heydays, the Star Wars era, the growing pain and final fall), could be about the whole timeframe or a focused look at a part of that company's history. EDIT: Not to name a specific studio or game, but generally it could be interesting to hear more about the transition from 3rd party to 1st party studio of one of the studios that have been purchased by Microsoft or Sony over the last couple of months.

1. Very satisfied! I'm here for the long haul, I'll keep supporting Noclip docs as long as you're willing to make them. 2. The long docs were what got me in here, but I also enjoy the newer interview-style docs in-between. I don't often get time to catch the podcasts or steams, but I almost always watch the supporter updates. 3. I really enjoy the behind the scenes stuff, but I'm not precious about that being supporter-exclusive. A while back, you were talking about the Corridor Crew channel, and I think that's an excellent model to follow. I really enjoy the stuff they post, as much (and sometimes even more-so) than their main channel. I'd be up for Noclip making that kind of content available to everyone to help build the community. 4. No specific requests, but I think I lean slightly more towards the scrappy underdog indie studios as doc subjects. I'd be curious to hear the likes of Team Cherry or House House talking about their experience with breakthrough hits.

Recent patreon supporter here, love your content! Please continue the long docs, as those are my favorite! Behind the scenes as an exclusive are always welcome. Love to see a documentary on Hello Games, and their game No Man's Sky, especially if it focused more on how the company continue to develop the game after the 2016 backlash. Thanks!
