Hey Patrons,

Most of you guesses the game, but surprise! It's not a single doc.

We're actually going to be covering the development of Supergiant Games' latest project Hades for the duration of its time in Early Access. Those of you who are Giant Bomb fans should remember the "Building the Bastion" series. Well this is similar, just filmed with our signature Noclip style.

Jeremy Jayne is leading this project on the ground while I am editing the episodes myself from HQ. Oh, and a bonus for all $5 patrons will be extra "deleted scenes" episodes alongside every ep in the series.

Check out this little primer, and let us know what you think!

Super hyped for this!

Liam Brown

I loved Building the Bastion, mostly for the doc videos but also because Supergiant would be in attendance at Whiskey Media HQ to do an interview with Ryan Davis before and after each episode just before Whiskey Media Happy Hour started. Will you be doing interviews with them? Even if it's over Skype?

Charalampos Koundourakis

Great project. Your commitment to bridge that understand between the consumers and developers is something I can really get behind.

Tory Thompson

This is awesome, and a really interesting new type of project! I’m more happy to be a patron with every project. Good job, Danny and Jeremy!

The style is different, we're doing sit-down interviews in the episodes themselves rather than after the fact. Jeremy is conducting them on site.

And Greg certainly feels the same way too. It was easy to get on board when we realized our goals were pretty close.

Jonathan Forney

I think Supergiant is a great studio for this sort of coverage, especially for how they maintain their identity across projects. I loved Bastion and Pyre, so I'm excited!

Michael Bataligin

Yes! Supergiant is great and I’ve been enjoying what I’ve played of Hades so far. Can’t wait to see these.

Sounds great. My only concern would be if the 'early access' period stretched out to encompass several years I would definitely lose interest.

noclip

Absolutely. We've talked a lot about that with them. Internally they have a roadmap for the development cycle and we're comfortable with how it looks.

This is going to be great. I cant wait. I would have one question and it kinda awkward.

Whats the finance angle? I always would love to know the costs and pressures of the money aspects. As they can really change a game in terms of its scope. Hell its entire idea can be changed. I know money is a very difficult question to ask but i think it would be a cool question to ask. Thing off all the grief creators get because they dont add things or do them in a different way? Im sure alot of times it can be money related.

Maybe even a doc on games that were made better or worse because of money?

Christopher Metzger

Very exciting stuff! Question: is this the type of project that you envisioned (and that we might expect to see more of) with the "Imbedded Docs" funding goal? Or is the long-term/episodic nature of this one more of a one time situation that emerged in discussion with Supergiant Games?

Josh Squires

As a Supergiant fan, I obiviously can't to see more of this project, but as a game dev, I'm even more excited that I and others get to see more of the thought process and dirty work that goes into making games.

Bavo Debraekeleer

Sounds great! Really looking forward to this one!

Looks great Danny, looking forward to this one - I purchased Hades the other day and so far I am loving it, so this will be really interesting to check out.

Gabriel Costa (Hired Sword)

Just upped my support for you and the NoClip Team's great work. Happy to help this kind of thing happen at a higher level and looking forward to seeing my name on the credits for these awesome future projects.

Christopher Kelly

Just upped my pledge to $10 cause of this, even though I would get everything I want with the $5 tier. This is an awesome sounding ongoing series and I love Supergiant Games. I'm so excited to see what else you guys have in store for 2.0 but I just wanted to up my pledge cause it shows you are going to be spoiling us! :) Thanks Danny and the NoClip team!
