Hey Patrons!

You may remember we conducted a poll a few month ago to see what type of content you folks wanted more of, and the answer was a resounding call for more behind-the-scenes features.

So when we flew to Japan last month to shoot our upcoming FINAL FANTASY XIV documentary series, we kept the camera rolling as much as possible. The end result is this near-hour long travel video of myself and Jeremy's first time in Japan.

Watch as we get lost looking for an ancient castle, gasp as we consume weird foods and drinks, and laugh as Japanese salarymen dance with us for absolutely no reason.

Loads more videos coming this month. Enjoy the show!

Danny

Tokyo Behind The Scenes / Travelogue (FINAL FANTASY XIV)

Thanks to you, we got to fly to Tokyo to shoot a documentary series about FINAL FANTASY XIV. And since it was our first time in Tokyo, myself and Jeremy decided to shoot as much behind-the-scenes stuff as we could. In this hour long vacation video, we wander around Tokyo, discover the wonders of Japanese soda machines, and buy a bunch of video game stuff.

Japan looks BEYOND amazing. I don't think I could survive out there by myself, but this was AWESOME. Thank you so much for taking us around. And that dance number... my God...

Harribo

I'm putting this guess down here for posterity. The dev who you met up with while over there was Capcom being you said you two had spoke a lot about Street Fighter while there and because out of all the goodies you bought the Chun Li was what you wanted to show us. Thanks for putting so much effort into this behind the scenes video Noclip boys ❤️💜💛💚💙

This looks absolutely top notch. Thanks for this, I'll treat myself to watching the whole thing in bed, with some hot chocolate. Alright alright alright....

Stuart Turpie

Japan looks fantastic! Thanks for this extra content, really enjoyed it.

Was a great video apart from the flicker at the start (I guess Japan runs on 50 Hz electricity or something?)

Justin Dotson

You should just move to Japan and do live twitch streams where we watch you drink random Japanese "beverages."

Kristopher

Those dancing businessmen you teased did not meet expectations, they surpassed them! :D

Really awesome! Thanks for such a long behind the scenes video. Great stuff. I noticed that darn banding showed up again, like in the Romero behind the scenes. What is with that?

Thomas Munkholt

"Look at that nonsense!" Very enjoyable! The music worked really well in this one.

Are you talking about the weird color blocks, or the way the lights and signs had that wavy flicker to them. I saw both when I watched this.

Anonymous

Yes, it does. Well, half of it. Eastern Japan runs on 50Hz and western Japan uses 60Hz. You have to adjust your shutter speed to match where you're at.

I must admit I didn't vote for more behind the scenes when the poll came out however this was brilliant! I believe because of the location more than anything. I have no affiliation with FFXIV (I absolutely loved FFX which is one of my fave games ever but no other joyful experience with any other FF games in the series) however I am really looking forward to the 3 part doc now after this behind the scenes look. Danny/Jeremy - great as ever, keep up the good work!

Andrew Nicol

Really enjoyed this. Tokyo is on my bucket list. Hoping to visit in two years.

it's super cool that they got Yosuke Matsuda (President of Square)!!

Clay A Binkley

That video was rad! Way more stoked for the doc, now.

This was one of my favorite videos yet, and it wasn't even a doc lol. Japan is so crazy and amazing, I can't wait to see it for myself some day. And the random dancing was fantastic!

Cascadia Films

Hey Danny! You are a total inspiration for all of us video geeks out there. Thanks for this behind the scenes, it really showcases your personality and caring spirits. Can't wait to see the final product !

ミルクコーヒー I think is just "milk coffee" but it was hilarious to see you scramble to figure out what it is lol

Tohir Tillyaev

That was a cool BHTS. I hope wasn't too much time or hard work to produce. I liked it even in rougher form so hopefully you won't spend too much time editing producing those

Josh in Tampa

Finally found the time to watch. What a great look behind the scenes. Really loved getting the feel for what it was like. Thanks guys!

2017-06-28 01:55:33 Danny, I've only just watched this. I was actually in Tokyo at almost the same time as you, and your experience with the Imperial Palace had me rolling around laughing as we had exactly the same experience!! We walked miles and bloody miles that day. Just reminded me so much of my trip. I loved every minute of it, and it appears you and Jeremy did too. Japan is an absolutely amazing country. Probably one of my favorite places. Keep up the amazing work mate! :)

The cold Jello drink was melon flavored, there was a picture of a melon on the price sticker/can.
