Hi guys,

Just a little announcement in regard to my reactions to Dr.Stone and Fire Force.

(FanClub Tier)

Putting both on hold.

Fire Force is delayed in production due to an horrific arson attack in Japan.

And to be honest, after a couple eps, Dr.Stone hasn’t grabbed me.

And I don’t want to react to a series that doesn’t excite me. I want to give 100% to you guys. And being half hearted about something just doesn’t appeal.

So I’ve been looking at substitute series.

I’m watching Fate: Stay/Night Unlimited Blade Works right now. Mid recording. And I’m loving it.

The next show is still up in the air. I’m thinking Demon Slayer at this point.

My most sincerest apologies to those of you who came here on the back of Dr.Stone and Fire Force reactions.

FF will continue when the production restarts.

Once again, your feedback is invaluable.

Cheers from Down Under,

Dean.

Once you finish any of those series, you could give a chance to Kiseijuu (also Parasyte), it's a somewhat mature series that has a good plot with some suspense and gore. Check the first chapters to see if it convinces you.

Huge fan of Fate here, if you want to really go deep into the series and understand everything you should watch Fate/Zero after Unlimited Blade Works. It’s the prequel of the story and it’s kind of dark. Fate is such a rich universe and it’s really hard to grasp everything at the first time. If you have any questions I can try to explain some things to you without spoilers. Also, I love your reactions videos, you feel like a dad for me ahaha

Aww, you’re too kind. Ironically I’m not a dad. Just finished episode 1 of Fate and it was amazing. Will have it up here soon.

Oh, I didn't watch Fate yet but I heard is good. I guess I'll be watching it along with you. Are you interested in some Japanese history and art? There is an anime called "Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu" that is considered a masterpiece by a lot of people, including myself. It has 2 seasons, one of 13 episodes and another one of 12. "The story is about the art of "rakugo", of Japan's history during the Shouwa era, of friendship and family, and of sacrificing everything to reach one's potential, but particularly it is a story about life— the lives of two talented, troubled and yet ordinary men." I took this from a review because I think it is a very good description of the plot, without giving any spoiler. You can find more info on what exactly "rakugo" is on Wikipedia. At first glance it might seem boring but I assure you it's not. The anime is full of twists and they are narrated beautifully.

Fate is still my favorite anime franchise even if some of the adaptations don't measure up. Rest assured, UBW and Zero are amazing however :)

How about trying out FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. That's always a highly must watch anime to newcomers.

deanbarry

I actually purchased that set on Blu Ray. So doing a private watch for that one.

Rising of the Shield Hero is fun =)

If you want suggestions for exciting series I would say Hunter X Hunter or recently airing Vinland Saga, they're both chock full of adventure and action. Good call on the fate there, beautifully animated but there's a lot of discussion on the order of how you're meant to watch the fate series but I think unlimited blade works is a fine place to start. Also, you probably already know but demon slayer is animated by the studio behind fate ubw, can't go wrong with kimetsu no yaiba.

The first arc of Dr. Stone is pretty slow. Second arc and onwards seem to pretty good though. Don't blame ya for putting it on hold for now.

This is a bit of a different show than what your used to, but you should check out a show called Re:zero. One of my top animes. There's not much I can say without spoiling the gist of the show, but its a fantasy show that can have some rather dark moments, but also plenty of light moments to balance it out. If you wanna check it out, I think watching the first episode (Part A and B) would let you know if you were gonna like it or not. of course, it gets way better than the first episode, but its somthing to note.

I think deathnote (the anime) would be a pretty cool anime to check out (english dub is amazing tbh). It's only 37 episodes long so it's not a big time investment. It's about a student who gains the ability to kill anyone simply by writing their name in a notebook. Another anime i'd recommend checking out is Code Geass: lelouch of the rebellion (i personally like the English dub over japanese for this series as well). It's a 'gundum' style anime i guess, about a highschool student who gains the ability to control people and about freeing a conquered Japan from Britannia (basically 'France, UK and USA was one super power). My all time favourite anime. I also hope you watch 'Gen:lock' by rooster teeth soon. I know it's currently only one season but it's so good. My final suggestion, a bit of a curveball, I don't know if it would be your type and I don't see a great deal of reactors watch this. "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni." (when they cry". I don't really know how to talk about it without spoilers, but basically it's a dark/mysterious/intrigue/horror anime. It deals with the supernatural, murder, and some organised crime. The plot can get really confusing really quickly due to the way the story is told, it's segmented, kind of a 'tarantino meets anime'. Be warned, it's a pretty gory anime and as a fan of tarantino and game of thrones i found a few scenes a bit much. I think it's amazing, but it's certainly not for everyone but I hope you check this out at one stage. Another warning: each season has a different name and the chronological/watch order is really messed up so If you do watch it, double check you're watching it in the right order. (sorry, i only intended to give you one recommended show besides gen:lock)

Wow, this quickly transformed into an anime recommendation post. Maybe watching the openings will help? And if you're at it, make also a reaction video? Obviously I'm joking saying it like that, but maybe you can consider it? I don't think you will get spoiled because after a day you won't remember anything anyway, especially if you watch more at once.

deanbarry

Hey Kieran, thanks for all the recommendations. I’ll add them to my list. As for gen:LOCK I have done a full series Reaction. You can find it in a playlist over on YouTube.
