Happy month!

In this last part of this hairy/feathery series, we gonna talk about how to get our simulations looking great during render times.

Let me know if any questions below!
Happy renderings!

Hey MotionPunk! Huge fan of your work! I was trying to follow along with the final part of the video on a project that I'm working on, but the hair keeps falling down and does not follow the animation of the splines if i disable the dynamics like in the start. I'm not sure if I got lost at any point in the video, but I was wondering if you could help me out to figure out this part of the process! Im Linking the hair in a Connect (with the Cloner and polyfx inside since i didnt have the Plugin to create the splines i did some workaround)

motionpunk

Hey buddy, thanks! Hairs sometimes need to press reroot/regrow to connect proper. If their roots have green circles means they are not connected. U also need to use them growing as guides (check that part of the tut again when i first connect them), as they do not root somewhere but they work around the lines. Also check on the project files to see if they are working on ur end and let me know!

One question, is there a way to controle the rope effect or bendiness over the length of the feathers ? The little spline that is cloned. So the tip can bend more than the root.

motionpunk

yes that should be achievable with vertex maps on splines and you could define either bend strength or you could use mix animation. But they are a bit weird for the moment, they work only on 1 spline, i kinda lost track as with each of subsequent patches/versions, this behavior changes.
