Happy month everyone!

4th part of c4d cloth series with an example from the almighty Future Deluxe. It's a commercial they did for Bang&Olufsen which has a ton of amazing cloth there. Was a nice challenge trying to recreate some parts of this.

Let me know what you think!

Cheers,
T.

Thank you Thanos! As always amazing work and clear technique. It would be super cool and a nice finishing touch if you can show how did you lit the scene in Octane.

Mikhail

Great one bro!

Hey Thanos, I was able to push the resolution of the plane to 600x600 without any problems. I didn't simulate it though, but rather export as alembic and then subdivided geo for even better resolution. Just wanted to share this cause I know you said in the video that you couldn't push resolution of the plane pass 400x300. I hope this is helpful info. neb

thanks for the input. My final sim was 600-800 i think and u can sds it via tags and not actually. U dont have to go the alembic route. Either it fits in gpu with no errors or it doesnt there is no way around it unfortunately

Amazing tricks

your vertex map management is so on point, tx Thanos!

Question.... can you attach a high res plain to a lower poly alembic cloth sim and still have the high poly plain tear in certain areas ....

Anonymous

i see... i also tried it using a vertex map on a belt and i thought that would solve it but does not seem to work on 2023... it did on R25 ...i m sure its user error

motionpunk

I m not sure to which part u are referring to as I do not showcase tearing here. Neither I use belt. Belt is not supposed to be used with the mix animations now. Its old way of setting up things. In any case yes, please check on project files

Great tutorial, but I'm not gonna lie, the best part was when you turned off the lines on the viewport lol

Anonymous

haha you are correct ... you did not show, but i wanted to try using your cloth tutorial on a low poly baseball glove to help drive the higher dense glove... and at the same time convert that high poly glove into a cloth sim to tear in specific areas... tryed a few ways but not very successful, but appreciate the commenting.

motionpunk

haha why? screen recorder glitching much? compression doesnt like wireframe lol

Rodrigo Ortega

just kidding, I just wanted to press N-A myself to check those wrinkles so I was really happy when you did haha

motionpunk

lol for me its the opposite i think wires help me check the mesh better :D but good to hear that i ll keep it in mind going forward ahha

motionpunk

no worries hehe. I might do something like this in the future, i rarely do tear stuff though

Lauren

Hello :) I'm stuck when I add the rotation, its making my all plane rotating but doesn't affect the turbulence. Do you know why? Thank you!!!

motionpunk

hey there, I think u need to balance the forces and/or the fields so they dont overtake one the other :)
