Hey guys,

Happy month to everyone. This month i ll focus on cloth both via Mamba breakdown and with individual tutorials.

In this specific one btw, u can fast forward the part from 25 min to 33 where i try to do some Xpresso and mess up haha. I do it in the end but oh well u know me swearing and failing same time, doesnt make good tutorial material hehe.

Any questions, hit me below.
Cheers

Is it ideal to Bake Alembic only after caching it?

motionpunk

u can also bake it direct just sometimes u might have errors. Safest option is to cache it first yes.

Very nice one, thank you

So many bugs! R20 felt like the last solid version!

motionpunk

couldnt agree more. If after formatting my machine same things occur i might go back to R20 even with lesser viewport performance

32:40 "You see why I would never go to Houdini", flash forward one year and you are teaching Houdini :D

motionpunk

hahahhaah yes but u wont see me doing vex or any weird shit i dont understand :D Jokes aside, I think its crucial to understand things on ur own. Even if ur way is not optimal, at least at first, u need to be able to have control of any node or any setup. And not only that, you also need to be able to apply it anywhere besides a specific tutorial. Once that is done, then and only then i will look for a shortcut. By nature, personally I am not made for coding. I do actually love coding, but I hate math. So that denies me the ability to be super technical. Thats what I meant when i said that :) Now that I am fiddling with houdini, I just found cool and artistic friendly ways of doing things. And thats why i am passing the knowledge hehe, i wouldnt dare become something more there!

I totally understand, I just thought it was funny that you said that. Can't thank you enough for your amazing tutorials and knowledge 🙏
