Lining up my entry for this year's Worthy painting competition, here comes Rhino!

From what I know about comic books and was able to glean from some images of Rhino, the fighting happens in the street. So it was the old plaster and hammer to kick off this urban battlezone.

The tracing was there so I could keep my pieces in rough order. I want it to look like a once continuous street so keeping my seams in check will add to that.

Thinking on the smaller details I could pull in, a buffet of ingredients was laid out. I think a small burst pipe with water shooting over the edge will adds style points as well as enhance the active state of the scene. Also the remains of a brick wall would add to the story. Rhinos, I hear they charge.

You may have noticed the brass etched rat lines hanging out. My thought was that I could use them to mimic some webbing which would put the charachter even more in theme. There were also thinner plaster pieces left over from the pouring I had done. These thin sheets were laid out around the fist to frame that villainous pavement pounding..it had to be done! Originally the sculpt came with some ruins but I needed something sharper.

I think the rat lines work. I still want to break them up but the glue is drying on that first connection. Gluing strings of brass to plaster takes a few sweeps.

For the paint job I'm thinking ambient police lights. Once the build is finely tuned its down to the dungeon for primer!

Cheers,

-Sam
