~Man, it's been a while since I've written a blog post. Life has been full of changes lately. Adepticon approaches, I have many projects going at once, and I'm finally getting settled into my new place. All that and more as some of you know~

But today we are going to get back on that horse and ride it to the Eightpoints! Two fully grown human adults lock eyes and drop dice while their creations march forth in simulated battle!

Warcry has been good source of fun and socializing in these past months, I've had so many games and tried all kinds of lists out. Uncle Atom has been on that train as well :)

Last Tuesday we got together to duke it out at our local shop, Flying Phoenix Games. I was running the Darkoath Savagers from the recent Red Harvest release and Atom brought a gaggle of dirty ratmen.

The scenario we ended up with was basicly to be the one with the most models on the objective at the end of round three. We had also drawn a twits card that limited everyone's movement by -1 inch. Already he was off with an advantage, having a reduced movement of 5 compared to my 3. But as the gods of chaos would have it, I was blessed on deployment and could place one of my groups on top of the objective at the start of the game.

Here we see where things settled after round one. I ran one of models towards Atom for fun and was shot by warpstone for doing so, haha. Warcry!

Turn two had some reinforcements coming my way as the boss and his gang showed up on the southern edge. I hurtled myself forward using both my actions to move and get close to the action as soon as I could, I was again peppered by warpstone fire but it mostly missed. The jabby spears did not.

This game goes quickly, being limited to 3 rounds, and that's what we like about it. In the final round Atom's reinforcements showed up on the left hand side and mine waaay over to the right, they would have no effect on this game at that distance. They have been Warcried as we call it.

Being Warcried is the blanket term for being fucked over by a situation from the start and all you can do is shrug, try to laugh it off, heh. I ran forward even so.

Pictured above is the end of round 3. I was able to smash just enough rats to clinch the victory by having one more model in range of the objective. As it should be, my models are massive muscle warriors and Atom's are about waist high to my ample midsection.

Hail the glorious dead!

Also, enjoy this hot action shot. The hands of the maker descend from sky, directing small beings to their fate.

I hope you enjoyed this little rundown of our recent bout :) Fun was had and we moved at a casual pace, making jokes and catching up. This game has a certain feel to it that takes away that competitive edge I've felt in most games. It's very difficult to pre-plan and create lists that you are certain will function well in any given scenario. Comparing that to say 40k, where a lot of the batleplan is drawn when you create your army list.

Most importantly, everything is painted and I brought my custom table, making for a very cinematic experience and I could possibly call it a moving diorama.

Cheers, Chromatic Warrior, the weekend is approaching and I hope you find time to enjoy this hobby we all love. Be it painting, building, playing, or any other form. Remain unchained!

Love,
-Samson

Who are the good guys in Warcry?

There is this book, Sentinels of Order, that alleges they are the good guys. Yet there are blood sucking witches within it's pages. I'm starting to think there are no good people and they're all infighting on this bus to hell together...lol.

Looks like you guys had a blast! It is cool to see shots of your finished table in action. See you on the battle field! Haha.
