Colored version of my previous sketch as reward for:  https://www.patreon.com/xbi/creators.

And this time I decided to experiment a little by doing soft shading with line art.
And it is similar to how I always did it before... yep, it costs an identical amount of time too X)
Anyway, I am curious, what type of shading is more attractive to you:
simpler and cartoonish shading or soft and more realistic shading?
If it is not hard for you, I am very interested to hear what you think))

They're both good, but I think I prefer the softer shading.

Hmm, tricky question. I think I prefer the soft shading more. I wished the cell shaded one would have saved you more time^^' I think it depends on the scene though - The cartoony shading on the soldering pony worked very well for my taste ( <a href="http://fav.me/db0tsey" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://fav.me/db0tsey</a> ). On Fluttershy with Alpaca, in comparison, some shades feel a little too "hard".

It depends on the subject and what feelings you like to portray! I'd say the softer shade moves it just that much further away from the cartoon show style which is a nice take to see once in a while.
