This are the patch-notes of the free August update for FeralIsland. Patchnotes:

Features:

  • Added swimming: The animation will be triggered when entering water.
  • Added the FeralPainter to FeralIsland. You can select the painter in the main menu. You can also press 7 in the main menu.
  • Added a gender toggle to the painter. Male and Female Felkin share the same UV.
  • Added paintable male & female bits! You can toggle male bits with the newly added "sheath creature detail" button.
  • Added some tool labels as a little QoL feature to the painter.
  • Added a live UV-Paint view to the painter that shows real time changes to the texture.
  • Added masking. You can now select between different masking layers to prevent painting over other parts of the creature.
  • Added a slider for brush size.
  • Added a slider for brush opacity.
  • Added a slider for brush hardness.
  • Added a slider for smudge size and strength.
  • Added a live fur paint mode.
  • Added a lighting toggle.
  • You can now save & load textures. You can find the saved textures in the Exported_Felkin folder. You can rename blank.png for multiple felkin textures.
  • You can now exit the application by pressing the exit button or by pressing escape.
  • Updated the water system and added depth fog and under water effects. There was also a ripple effect if you are getting into the water.
  • Added better ripple and foam control. The particles are now only enabled when the player Felkin is in water and close to the water surface.
  • Lowered the icon size to make room for more tool icons!
  • Textures now correctly share common texture data between multiple models. Male, Female and male genitals are all different models but painting those will now use a correctly merged texture slot that now is exported into a single .png file by pressing the save button!
  • Added the "Load Custom Texture" mod to the modding menu. You need to enable the "Load Custom Texture" mod to use any .png file as a custom creature texture. At the moment it is recommended to use only textures of a 2048x2048 pixel size. At the moment, only one texture can be loaded at a time. But I am planning to allow multiple textures to be loaded in the future.

Changes:

  • The camera clipping was improved to prevent the camera from peeking through the surface.
  • Your tail raises quicker, when you attract NPCs.
  • Better transition to the laying down state while attracting.
  • Water ripples are now turned off when not moving/swimming.
  • Paint changes are now calculated every time the mouse is moved or pressed instead of every frame. This is both a performance improvement and an improvement for handling different brush opacities.
  • Texture changes when painting in fur mode appear quicker now.
  • Nearly halved the Feral Painter file size.

  • Lots of minor QoL improvements.
  • Saving a texture with the FeralPainter does now store the texture file inside the "./Mods/CustomTexture/" folder.

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed a bug in which attracting a laying NPCs would break the mating logic.
  • Fixed a bug in which attracted creatures had a wrong state flag which caused them to be not attracted properly.
  • Fixed a bug in which it was possible to raise tail while walking.
  • Fixed a bug in which the laying flag was still set while moving.
  • Fixed a bug with a wrongly set sprinting flag.
  • Fixed a bug in which seams were visible.
  • Fixed a bug in which the fur texture was too dark because it was not using linear rendering.
  • Fixed the text label of the fill tool.
  • Fixed a bug in which the dev island 2.0 was loaded instead of the character selection when 0 or 6 was pressed.
  • Fixed a bug in which painter tool-tips were enabled on scene start, even when no tool was selected.
  • Fixed an issue with the collision detection when painting the crotch area of a Felkin.
  • Fixed a missing "2 bulls 1 cow" fur bug.
  • Fixed a big with disappearing and flickering shadows.
