wanted to add a note here: In the "Lore VS Scares" section it came across that I was minimizing the "lore" of the early games. 100% the mystery of the storytelling was a massive secret to their success, and something everyone was into. My point moreso was that the actual fear created by the games was just as important, and we've seen the series pick scares over lore before: FNaF 3 had maybe the PERFECT ending for the story, but people didn't think it was scary enough. So Scott made ANOTHER game which ended up complicating the story. Maybe I didn't need to make a correction, but I think my point was more that I think the film could have slowed down on revealing the story and focused more on the fear. Anyway!

*SPOILERS* My biggest takeaway is that the movie lacked subtlety. I loved the subtle references to the games, fandom, etc. but there were a few times where I think they really should have held back (MatPat saying his catchphrase, the climactic fight, the extra shot spelling out that Vanessa is holding Garrett's airplane). I think this movie is perfect for parents of kids who love fnaf and they want something to talk about with their children.
