Happy New Year everyone!!!! Thank you so much for your support this past year.

2023 was the year that I finished DONKS, and have now started work on a new film!

In the interim in the middle I learnt a bunch more 3D through my little experiments on here, the largest being The Lost Suburbs, as well as working on an extended DONKS soundtrack.

This Untitled New Film is going to be an actual BIG film like Donks or Double King or Throat Notes, and the mind-mapping and tests and all the early getting-my-head-around-it stuff is out of the way and I’m really excited to hit the ground running with it this year.

Last year my studio WOMBOT also put out two music videos- Side Sidemi, and then just a few days ago STARDUST, which I’m yet to talk about on here (go watch it if you haven’t yet! I'll make a behind the scenes post soon)

The STARDUST video was directed by me, but both projects were mostly animated by my partner and studio co-owner Zoë, so I could still put full-time hours into Patreon.

But work for clients, with deadlines and revisions and emails still find ways to eat time, and so last year involved a lot of long days and all-nighters and weekends to stay on top of it all. This new year, I’ve left my schedule blank so my mental focus can be entirely on the new project (and so I can go to bed (and finish the DONKS soundtrack))!

While last year was technically really productive, I'm sure many of you were waiting for another longer indie film, so thank you so much for your patience and for funding my time to learn and experiment, and giving time for the bigger ideas to form. Having a big project like this is always what I’m most excited about, and like all my favourite past films, this one is a culmination of some ideas that have been gestating for a long time.

Anyway here’s a paper animation! It’s a tree outliving several flowers. I’m gonna put the frames in some envelopes now and send them to Pen Pals!

God these things live on such radically different timescales. Trees is elves
