This 9" x 12" piece began life as a false start for a commission. The layout pencils were pretty dark and I decided to start over on another sheet of paper rather than try erasing everything below the logo (which most likely would have turned the paper gray and resulted in another crunched-up ball of paper in the recycling). I pushed it along to inks while working on other drawings, colored it last night, and listed it a little while ago. 

I would have repurposed it for another customer's commission, but none of the remaining pieces are a straightforward M&C w/logo piece. One has a Cthulhu theme, one has wild animals, others have different characters. And there's also a page recreation. 

This is the second of two drawings I'm listing to bring in some money while I'm working on the old commissions. I'm also using these listings to get a better idea of pricing commissions when the list is reopened. They won't match but they will be higher than the 2020 pricing list and reflect original art sales from this past year. 

And the new commissions themselves will likely not be as detail-heavy as they used to be (unless customers are willing to pay extra). These things are doing a number on my hand and I just bought new reading glasses for the detail work. Getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative. Then again, I'll probably just keep throwing details in because I simply cannot help myself. Who knows. I just have to get through these drawings I owe folks so they can finally get the artwork they paid me fore, I can breathe a little easier, and fill up my guilt meter on other things I screwed up. 

I just wish summer weather was over, I can't stand my studio when it's hot. I meant to get a new, quieter air conditioner but that didn't happen, and this old clunker is so loud I can't listen to anything while I work. I know I can use airbuds or headphones but I get really paranoid working like that, one cat paw on me or a knock on the door and I scream out loud and my heart rate goes through the roof. Duh-haw, I'm a goofus. We should all have such problems. Then again, I do have others!
