Apple Store Price Changes. (Patreon)

   Hello everyone,

   Apple Store has made Patreon comply with their tax prices on pledges, here's what you should know and do:

    • New memberships aquired through the Apple Store will cost 30% more than any other form of payment.

    • Currently running memberships will NOT have their price altered, you only have to worry about this if you plan on cancelling your membership and renewing it later.

   My suggestions:

   • If you plan on cancelling your membership for whatever reason, make sure to NOT use the Apple Store to renew it later, you can use a desktop computer, or an android device to do so. (I have not tested this, but perhaps it is possible to use the browser Safari on an iPhone to get a subscription to Patreon, bypassing Apple Store's system. Worth a try if you have no other options.)

   • This is speculation, but perhaps downgrading your pledge does not count as a new subscription, and you can simply change your pledge to the 1$ tier if you still want to continue using the Apple Store without paying the extra tax. Again, NOT tested, but might be worth a try if you're an iPhone user and have no other alternatives like mentioned in the last bullet point.

   •SubscribeStar is still an alternative to Patreon, it is not bound by Apple Store, nor the Android's Play Store, and therefore will never change anything to comply with their rules, if you wish for an alternative mean of supporting without risking massive changes happening constantly.

  In any case, if you wish to stop supporting for lack of alternatives it is completely understandable and I appreciate your support until now!
