I wasn't going to make a video this week. My insomnia is back again, and I have other projects I'm working on that takes time. But something about Over the Moon feels too captivating that, I can't help but talk about it in a semi-proper video.

I don't think the video is all that excellent. It's solid, but a tad too predictable. But it has this comfort to it. It's so easy to watch and so relaxing, I find myself wanting to rewatch it mere days after finishing my first viewing. Part of it is the songs. But another part of it, it's because of the cultural accuracy. Everything, east, and west, feels familiar and nostalgic.

If you have the chance, give this film a watch. Animations produced outside of Hollywood often barely gets the attention. One on this scale, produced internationally, is a rare treat. Seeing cultures collide like this is truly beautiful. I hope this is the future of cinema. In fact, I hope this is the future of our world. More cooperation, please.

Over the Moon Transcends Nationality | Video Essay

Accented Cinema - Episode 49 This is a shorter video highlighting a movie that I think deserves some attention. While I wasn't blown away by Over the Moon, I still think it is a solid, emotionally driven movie that can be enjoyed by everyone. But it does have one thing that makes it very special. ------------------------------------------ Support us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/AccentedCinema Follow us on Social Media! https://www.facebook.com/AccentedCinema/ https://twitter.com/AccentedCinema

To my great surprise it is available on Netflix, so I'll give it a shot this weekend.
