[Weekly Update] October 18th, 2020 (Patreon)

Hello everyone, hope you had a good week! No media discussion this week, as I have a few important questions and updates I want to talk about and get your opinions on it.

Without further ado:

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT GODZILLA?

Our next video on Shin Godzilla is now in the work. Plenty of notes are being taken. The original intention is to talk about the one flaw I find with Shin Godzilla, the reason I did not enjoy the film.

But as I continue to work on the script outline, I realize, not everyone understands the metaphor and the message behind Shin Godzilla.

So, would you like me to explain Shin Godzilla's message and metaphor? Or would you prefer to keep those informations brief, and focus more on my personal analysis?

LIVE STREAM IDEAS?

Not sure anyone cares, but on this page, our first mile stone is set to $1000 dollar a month. After reaching said goal, we'll start live streaming on occasion, maybe once every two months or so. We our channel nearly reaching 200k subscribers (thank you!), I think it'd be interesting to at least do it once.

Currently I don't have a capture card or a gaming PC, so as much as I'd love to play Tetris Effect for you, that is out of the question (for now). But we can always do a live analysis of Ballad of Mulan, a tutorial on Chinese chess, or just a Q&A.

Would you be interested in these live streams? If so, what would you like to see?

Would you rather we livestream from the main channel (and set it unlisted afterward), or from a separate channel?

CHANNEL UPGRADES?

With this channel's income finally stabilizing (Again, thank you!), I'm thinking of buying upgrading the channel quality a bit.

The main thing I'm thinking of is buying a new microphone. I use a Blue Snowball, which isn't exactly great in terms of sound quality. It pick up my basement reverb better than most mics. I'm thinking of upgrading it to a Blue Yeti, a long with lining one side of my wall with acoustic foam if possible.

Another upgrade is to revamp my channel animation styles. over the course of this channel's growth, many elements are added, to a point of being inconsistent. Typographies and subtitles on our channel are white with black drop shadows, while everything else is red on black with outlines. I can I should some day, commission someone to help revamp them into a more readable, consistent art style.

Or you know, I can always hire a narrator if you are sick of my voice. I know I am, lol.

If you want to improve one thing from this channel, what would it be?

November Break

Due to cumulative stress and general tiredness, I'll be taking a two week break from the channel. That means for November, we'll have one video before the 15th. As stated from last week's update, it'll be about Rurouni Kenshin.

Afterward, out next video will be out December 1st. We also have a Christmas video planned, and one more video for January. Nothing else is planned further, yet. I'll keep you posted.

While I'll take a break from the channel, I'll continue to update this page. Bonus videos and such will be scheduled as usual. I'll simply use my break time to finish up my personal projects, one of which may be interesting to you. Let's see when I can show it off to the world.
